APP STATE / UNCC WX TREND... **FRI UPDATE**
***Friday AM Update***
Well, stand down the big stormy / showery threat bombers. Looks like things will be slow enough to unfold, that the main shower and storm threat won't really be in play until late Saturday night.
It appears our probabilities of remaining dry for tailgating and the game, are higher than the chances of rain & storms until late. Can timing change? Yes, so, we'll just keep an eye to the sky. But, I feel a lot better about a lower weather impact threat for the game.
Travel safe and lets show UNCC some class while on their campus.
GO MOUNTAINEERS!
--------------
***THURSDAY UPDATE***
A better handle on things by modeling as we close in on Saturday's big game with UNCC in Charlotte. Pack the rain gear as it now appears that shower and storm chance will be on the rise late afternoon and through the evening hours. There's a risk for even a game delay, or two, if storms threaten the venue.
Will monitor data runs through the day.
-------------
Finally, it's put up or shut up for the 49'ers. I've heard it, lived it, rolled my eyes over it . But, always cautious with these sorts of games, cause ya just never know until you know.
Thus, it's time for a full removal the smug and show these mouthy "upstarts" the reality of their commuter school "football" situation; it ain't good. It will be yeaaaaaaaaaaaaars before UNCC can remotely be referred to as a "good" program; if ever.
----------
Oh yeah.... weather... Oddly, I'm posting from the High Country this week.
----------
Typical NC sort of Summer conditions will be in play. Muggy, hot, looking like partly cloudy skies, with a small risk for a pop up shower / storm late afternoon and evening. The 6 PM kickoff will afford for cooling temps through the game. Humidity will remain however.
----------
NOON: Mid 80s - Partly cloudy, heat index in the lower 90s.
3 PM: Upp 80s - Partly cloudy, a chance for shower / storm, heat index in the lower 90s.
KICKOFF: Mid 80s, Partly cloudy, a good chance for shower / storm.
HALFTIME: Lower 80s, Partly cloudy, a good chance for shower / storm
END OF GAME: Upper 70s, Partly cloudy, a good chance for shower / storm
Hydration is key for the afternoon of tailgating! In direct sunlight add another 10-15 degrees to the effects of the heat index on the human body.
-----------
As always...

Not a washout just yet. But, the data is leaning towards a soggier scenario. We'll see how that holds up later today and early Friday.

Thanks for keeping us posted. While I'd much prefer a dry field for fan comfort and player speed, we'll be fine with #25 and our guys up front. It would also make it easier for our fans to take over the stadium because I know those fair-weather forty-whiner folks will be outta there.

Re: APP STATE / UNCC WX TREND... **UPDATE**
Well.. as of 4 PM, Thursday, modeling a bit slower with timing and veracity of possible stormy mayhem. I suspect, in the end, we may end up OK. I'll update Friday AM before a leave Boone and head back to home base in Huntersville.
Bottom line, this weather man, and his better half, will be at the game, rain or no rain. I'm forecasting for ALL of us!

Re: APP STATE / UNCC WX TREND... **UPDATE**
HA.. not clearing up... looking like probabilities are down a bit for the late afternoon and early evening (game duration) hours. We'll see... Tighter grid modeling getting a better gander at things from her on out. Friday AM will tell the tale of a clear trend. Either way... I'm still packing my rain gear!

If there is lightning during the game, all fans will scatter. At least the smart ones.

Hmmm things look better with model trends of late. Keep the rain coat at least in the car.

Re: APP STATE / UNCC WX TREND... **FRI UPDATE**
Based on the hourly forecast on Weather.com there's a 5% chance of precip at 6:00 & 7:00 and then moving to 15% at 8:00, 9:00 and 10:00. Hopefully that holds...if the forecast worsens my family will bail and I'll end up going solo...so I might have extra tickets to sell...
