Georga State seems to be well out of the Florence "cone". And they don't have a home game. Maybe we could have the game there.
I think a more likely yet unfavorable solution is to move the game to Southern Miss.
If, and only if, SouMiss agrees to two future games at KBS. They should not forever benefit from the dire emergency situation developing in NC this weekend.
If it happens to the Apps, it happens to me!

So if the game is canceled, shouldn't our season ticket seats for this game be good for the SBC championship game in Boone in December?????????

Doubtful. That game is not guaranteed, and I would assume they would not want to wait until late November to do something about a game in middle of September. With that being said, you will likely have dibs on your season ticket seats if we do host the game. You will just have to pay the asking price.

Just checked. Both App and Southern Miss are off October 6. That could be the answer

There is no way we could play on Saturday and turn around and play on Tuesday. My guess is we either move to Hattiesburg or the game is cancelled.

No way they compromise the stAte game. There's too much riding on that matchup to add an OOC makeup into the mix.

My parents have a home in Boone up Friendship church road. I am encouraging them and my sisters family to all go up there and ride this hurricane out there. Any concerns of landslides or anything when it historically rains like this? They are on the side of a mountain with a small creek a down it a bit. I don't think flooding would be a threat, it wasn't last year when the town got the epic floods but I really don't have any reference for what something like this is in Boone.
Anytime Boone has been affected by Hurricane/tropical storms, the rain becomes a serious problem. Even if mudslides aren’t a problem, you have to worry about wind/trees and the fact that Boone can flood easily, causing traveling around the area to be dicey. My thoughts, based on nothing, would be that Charlotte to Hickory are ideal places to be (outside of low lying areas and creek beds etc)
Boone isn't ideal with the current track but it's sure got to be a lot better than 30 miles from Wilmington. I'm having a hard enough time convincing my parents and sister's family to even leave with me to go to a large vacation home big enough for everyone in Boone. I can only imagine trying to get convince them to join me at the quality inn in Charlotte. I was snowed in 5 days last winter by myself there, being suck there is one thing, safety is my concern.

Bad options all the way around. It would be suicide to play the Saturday before a Tuesday Conference game...especially against that team. Deciding to play at So Miss at this late date will add a major expense to a stretched budget and be a logistical nightmare. While all of this sucks for those of us looking forward to some payback this weekend, we all really need to be thinking about those at the coast...and ourselves as this thing may still be a hurricane 100 or more miles inland.

Landslides and swift water are the issues we are most concerned with at the moment. Portions of WNC have not yet fully recovered from earlier landslides . Roads , bridges ,electrical system outages as well as potential sewage overflow. But again the storm has yet to determine it's course. Wednesday is key.

Has there been a lot of rain in the last week or so in Boone? I saw where there was a flashflood warning currently today. Seems like if it's been raining already the tree threat and flooding will be more of a problem. We are luck that Eastern NC has been dry the last couple of weeks.

Hopefully Fox 8 and their 4.5" will be correct, but I'm not holding my breath when it comes to them. In WXAPP we trust.

The past two weeks have been the driest of a wet summer , so that is a positive. However with higher of the potentials in the forecasts , well that would be a "cluster".

Georgia State plays Memphis at home on Friday night. Maybe our old friend Charlie Cobb will throw us a bone. Atlanta would be a good central location for both schools.

That is the issue with having no true "bye" week this year. I guess we both could play if we both didnt make our respective conference title games.

Granted I would hold out for a few days. Decision isn't needed until Thursday AM.
