Correct. UNCC Concessions are ran by Chartwells- a division of Compass Group. They are the largest food service group in the world. While I prefer the “local” flavor provided at The Rock versus a cookie-cutter approach that a Compass or Sodexo would provide, Id trade it all to have an ice cold Coca-Cola. Who orders a Jack and Pepsi? You couldn’t put enough Jack in a Pepsi to negate that nastiness.appbanker wrote: ↑Wed Sep 12, 2018 10:00 amI believe UNCC contracts out there concessions instead of using volunteer groups to man them like we do.ASUchipman wrote: ↑Wed Sep 12, 2018 9:41 amThe food offerings at UNCC was more like a pro sports team concession stand. Re: NO SOUVENIR CUPS & ICE
Pepsi may have been “Born in the Carolinas”, but they moved out their central operations a long time ago and never came back. Coca-Cola Consolidated, the largest Bottler in the U.S., is based out of Charlotte and has been serving NC for over a century. They are in every corner of the state and support/involved in every community. Don’t let Pepsi’s monicker fool you, they are Yankees who could care less about NC. Take it from someone who knows. Just like when the Carolina Coast was flooded years prior, they already have disaster relief teams standing by along with unlimited supplies of water to help our friends on the coast.mountaineerman wrote: ↑Sat Sep 15, 2018 5:25 pmBlasphemy! And tennis is better than football
GA Southern smells better than App
Canada is better than the U.S.
Chicken is better than Steak
J/k.... everybody has their preference. But I stand by my statement about NC, I laugh every time I see “Born in the Carolinas”.

I’m on a diet where I have to drink unsweet tea. Right now, I’d kill for a coke.

Re: NO SOUVENIR CUPS & ICE
My wife asked me if I had to give up one, what would I give up?
Coke in a glass bottle or beer?
Believe it or not, it took me a while to answer......

I’m nowhere near an alcoholic, but I’d never be able to give up beer.appstatealum wrote: ↑Sat Sep 15, 2018 6:06 pmMy wife asked me if I had to give up one, what would I give up?

Re: NO SOUVENIR CUPS & ICE
App State is one of the only schools I have dealt with in the region that has an independent food service. There are definitely some advantage to that for the school, but there are many disadvantages as well. Typically, larger third parties will do a lot of “extra”things for a client to maintain their contracts long term. I imagine the “Battle of the Beards” cups were an initiative taken on by a Compass. I have two in the cabinet....

Re: NO SOUVENIR CUPS & ICE
It is hard to beat an ice cold Coke in a glass bottle, it’s close to heaven. But life is long and hard, the rest of the ........ was that I would choose beer over Coke. *as I take a sip of my Octoberfest*AppinVA wrote: ↑Sat Sep 15, 2018 6:09 pmI’m nowhere near an alcoholic, but I’d never be able to give up beer.appstatealum wrote: ↑Sat Sep 15, 2018 6:06 pmMy wife asked me if I had to give up one, what would I give up?

Re: NO SOUVENIR CUPS & ICE
From the webpage above.
Mountaineer Concessions
In its debut season, Mountaineer Concessions brings signature menu items and game day classics to Kidd Brewer Stadium.
At every home football game fans can find exciting new concepts on both the home and visitors side of the stadium as well as convenient drink carts for thirsty fans.
Emphasis mine. And something else for some to not like with the wording here. I was thinking we prefer west and east side, or at minimum "the side that has the visiting team tickets section."
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

And more from the webpage-
---------------------------
Community Partners
Mountaineer Concessions brought along community partners such as App Cookie Co., The Cardinal, Captain Jim’s Seafood, J&J’s Hawaiian Ice, The Farmer’s Wife Fried Pies, Higher Grounds and Woodlands BBQ who will fire up food trucks and set up shop at concessions.
Feedback
App fans are welcome to provide feedback from their concessions experience. Please email foodservices@appstate.edu with questions and comments.

Woodlands BBQ is safe it seems, but let them know about souvenir cups with ice at the email.
