Yes, I was there. This is why we never, ever leave ballgames early. (couple exceptions in 30 years: 1) game stopped for lightening; & 2) a continuous wind was blowing sleet back into our faces on the West side; left both those games in the third.
Best part of this Furman game in 2002, my sons were 9 & 7 at the time & we went down on the field afterwards. Derrick Black gave my boys his gloves. Best part: one son wore the right glove & one wore the other (so Mom was happy too!). We kept those gloves for about a year, until ... the dog got ahold of them.
Up until this week, I did not realize that Billy Napier was now ULaLa's coach.
Cool stuff! BTW, have any other App posters gone to the ULaLa message board, Ragin Pagin, and been unable to sign on because they have not approved your sign in? What's up with that?

I'll give them props for the website name - Ragin' Pagin-good stuff.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

Re: Louisiana up Next
This looks like a game where they might want to get into a shootout. I don't think their defense can contain us, so they will want to try to keep up on the score board. I don't think we are as good as Alabama and maybe Miss State defensively, but we will be the best defense they face in the Belt. Gonna be interesting to see how Mr. Napier attacks us....

I've been interested in how Napier , and LaLa , have gone about rebuilding their program , modeling it on Alabama ,as best they can. They may be a little ahead of schedule at this point, perhaps .In any event I look for them to regain their status as a factor in the Sunbelt sooner , rather than later.

Don't know about Alabama D but App defense is every bit as good as Miss St defense. You can bet on that. A good measure this week will be how closely final score matches with those 2 SEC games.

True. We haven't by any stretch of the imagination needed to open up the play book this year. Everything has worked the way we planned and wanted.WASU 93 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 9:12 pmWe won 35-9 against a supposed Top Team in the Sun Belt. 35-9 and it wasn't that close. Our offense was pretty vanilla last night. We did run a jet sweep, the jump pass near the goal line and the option on the final TD. But, why should we expose Zack Thomas to excessive hits , when we don't need to. We won by 26 points on the road, with an offense that didn't play it's best game and didn't really open up the playbook.AppStateMtneer wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 4:56 pmSo.... if we don’t run the option more I will be very upset... was wanting us to call it several times when up the middle prooved to fail early and often the first half of the Arky game.
Anyone know if we even ran it other than the scoring play by Thomas towards the end of the game ?
No need to be upset.

Wonder how they will handle the weather change. Probably in 40s before the game is over Saturday. They've barely dipped into the 70s for highs I believe.

I also visited Ragin Pagin and am waiting for approval. I just wanted to invite any of their fans who might be attending the game to tailgate with us. They were so friendly and cordial to us last time in Lafayette that I wanted to return the favor.AppAlum1 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 14, 2018 4:34 pmYes, I was there.
