Yuuuuuuge
Just going to go ahead and say it. Thursday night is going to be huge. 5-1 vs 6-1, national tv, potentially with us being ranked.
Troy will want to have their say, but this game could be for the championship. I’m sure GSU will be rocking and will be an intense atmosphere.

Re: Huge
This will need to be an inspired performance. GaSo will bring the house. Don't think we will be ranked which may help us and the Eagles may feel somewhat bullet proof after todays win.

Re: Huge
Just keep winnng. Rankings, conference standings, and everything else will take care of themselves. I think that before the season is over, today’s win might even look a little better.

Re: Huge
The iggles have this game circled every year , this year especially after the train wreck season they had . This being on national TV and both teams with 0 conference losses just fuel the fire. Can we stop the run and keep Werts contained on the option. This and winning the turnover battle , we leave Statesboro with a win!

Re: Huge
It is pronounced “yuuuge”.
I think we will be ranked and I think our defense will be on a different level on Thursday night. I beatdown will ensue.

Re: Huge
Our slow starts the last two weeks give pause for this game. We will get GS’s best for 10’minutes or so, hope the defense is ready to give the O time to warm up.

Re: Huge
Satt mentioned in the post game that they have been prepping, to some extent, for GS for the past 3 weeks due to the short week.

Re: Huge
I have been impressed with Coach Brown's defense all season and this game Thursday night will be a real test for him and his squad. We've got some major ballers on defense...and not just a few but a boat-load. I'm not overly worried but the short week and playing on the road does factor in some level of concern.

Re: Huge
Couple responses:
Sorry wasn’t thinking. It most certainly is yuuuuuuge.
And the point about travel, I was contemplating what was more burdensome. Traveling back fro NM Sat night or to Statesboro Wednesday.
Have to think the Sun Belt as a whole benefits from this game. If I was a sportswriter covering another Sunbelt school, I would be voting for both App & GSU to try to make this a premiere game.
I like everyone’s confidence!

GS lives and dies by the run... period. Stop that an d they are done. Get behind and they are done. We can live without a running game if need be. We can live without a passing game if need be. We can get it done simply with special teams. They will not know what hit them Thur....

Re: Yuuuuuuge
This. Whenever GS gets a QB that can throw the ball accurately I’ll be worried. Shutdown their run game and they can’t do anything else. NMSU had them down 14-3 early then they went on a big 42-3 run. Won’t happen that way with this App team and defense. I do think both teams will take a quarter to let the nerves and implications of this game wear off. Need to jump on them quick and make them play from behind the entire game. Do that and they’re toast. They will never win against a team that puts them in a hole early and has a decent defense.ASUTodd wrote: ↑Sun Oct 21, 2018 11:37 amGS lives and dies by the run... period. Re: Yuuuuuuge
Only thing that kills us will be turnovers that keep their offense on the field . All their drives were long time consuming pounding runs that paid off in the 3rd quarter.
