Unfortunately, College Football, especially in the G5, leaves little to no room for error to accomplish something out of the ordinary. The fact that is takes lottery type odds to have a UCF type season for our level versus a 2-loss team being considered for a 4 team playoff is a joke.

There is going to be big changes in the ranked teams above 15. We are not the only ones stumping our toe. Losses include 15, 16, 18, 20, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26. They are going to have to rank a lot of new teams this week. Maybe we will still get some votes after almost everyone else losses too. If Georgia Southern Doesn't get in that would be a shame.

Now let pluck some chickens.

How about we try to win every remaining game, hope for maybe a little help (win our division), then the conference championship then our bowl. We will be highly regarded if not ranked. I’ll take it

Our future is bright. Let’s not forget the past but focus on the path ahead. We are young and this will battle harden our team in the future.

The problem is that no one can do it. Literally. If UCF can't do it, no G5 team can. The AAC isn't full of pushovers and all UCF has done is won close to 20 games in a row, including wins over several P5 teams and a shellacking of a likely representative in the ACC title game. Say Pitt goes in to the title game and beats Clemson, UCF wins out. Where does that leave an undefeated UCF?

I say we need a 24 team playoff.
Much like the FCS. Top 8 Conference Champs and or Notre Dame get a first Rd bye. The remaining conference champs get a home game and play the lowest seeds of the 14 at large teams 13 if ND is ranked in the Top 8. First three rounds played on college campuses with the NCAA paying travel for visiting team and stadium operation. The rest goes into a pool for the conferences. Semis and Finals are played at Bowl sites.

We don't need 24. 8 means every league gets a shot and still preserves the "every game matters" mantra. I don't want to see 3 loss teams playing for a title.

5 P5 conference champions, 2 at large, top rated G5.
