Place is empty. They must have told everyone if they came they would have to listen to their TV color guy.

21-0 good guys. Nice drive to end the 2nd quarter. Keep it up in the 2nd half.

I have never heard a more biased telecast from a “neutral” channel.
You would get less partial commentary from Adam witten and Simms mcelfresh

Not sure if my memory is correct but I recall Tx State being in the FCS a while back and I watched them at home in the playoff's and that stadium was packed full. It's a shame they can't bring in a crowd as an FBS team even if they aren't winning big.

possible 4 games left after this...is the 4 game R/S rule only apply for regular season? Bowl games not part of the rule? or championship games either?

D Harrington may be back for the Championship game and the Bowl game.

If Peoples is as good as everyone thinks, he will be NFL ready without the redshirt year. If he helps us win games in an easier fashion this year, let him play. Running backs are easier to recruit than other positions, especially if we can send one to the show. No need to sit who might be our best horse on the bench if he is ready to go, and judging from the 30 yard run, he’s ready to go (my thinking would be different if Jalin was still healthy).

my point though was we didn’t need him to help us win this game, but we sure might against troy, SB ‘ship game and bowl game...AppinVA wrote: ↑Sat Nov 10, 2018 7:21 pmIf Peoples is as good as everyone thinks, he will be NFL ready without the redshirt year. + woulda been nice for him to have a big debut game at home next weekend instead of one series in garbage time out in Texas...(being selfish here, I want to see it in person & i know he had soft debut in GW game)
edit: AppinVA re-reading your post I see you may be saying just play here on out and burn the shirt...(not what I want if we saved him this long)

Re: Texas State game coverage?
Fair point. I am in favor of getting him some live action hits before going into that stretch run.APPRIDE wrote: ↑Sat Nov 10, 2018 7:28 pmmy point though was we didn’t need him to help us win this game, but we sure might against troy, SB ‘ship game and bowl game...AppinVA wrote: ↑Sat Nov 10, 2018 7:21 pmIf Peoples is as good as everyone thinks, he will be NFL ready without the redshirt year. Re: Texas State game coverage?
and if they now burn the shirt it could be that if he’s that good and going to the bigs then there may be an understanding he’s not staying for 4 more years after this...do the next 3 seasons at full tilt and go pro...

Re: Texas State game coverage?
Sure, he is big and had a great high school recruiting video, but he has carried the ball for us, what, 10 times maybe and we are already shipping him off to the NFL and early at that???
It seems pretty obvious that we put the best players on the fieldPERIOD.
If he was better than jalin, better than darrynton, better than daetrich, he would be playing already.
While he seems to have great potential he still needs experience. Why put him in the game in a tough championship or bowl game atmosphere untested? Players are stronger and hit harder at this level. Getting stripped or coughing it up in a game with major implications just so he can be “unveiled “ like a Christmas present for fans?? Come on guys.
The truth is, we are fine (and still deep) at running back now and Harrington should be coming back any time now.
I think next year Evans moves back to slot and Harrington and peoples will be our RBs with 3 and 4 years remaining, respectively

Re: Texas State game coverage?
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Are you seriously suggesting that he is that good that he may go pro early? 1) We haven't seen him play but a handful of snaps in garbage time against a beaten, bad, FCS team. 2) We haven't seen him carry the load in a single game, and 3) when was the last time we ever had someone of the quality and talent to leave early? Just because the coaches like what they have, doesn't make him NFL ready as an 18 year old who is biding his time until he can get paid. It would be nice if you were right but let's see him against some real talent for a full season before we get ahead of ourselves.
