Unread post by Overcashed » Tue Nov 27, 2018 2:19 pm

Just saw confirmation online that they're back slinging burritos, can't wait to grab one this weekend.

The restaurant changed ownership and closed temporarily for renovations. I hope it's as good as it used to be because Murphy's went through same process and it's not nearly what it was.

https://www.blackcatburrito.com/ - menu appears to be mostly the same with a few additions like the choriqueso fries. The same family that owns CoBo took it over from Meagan earlier this year.

Finally. We walked by this past weekend and saw the sign that they were opening back this week. I'll drop by when I make it back up there.

They took way too long to reopen.

Black Cat's burritos were decent, but I preferred Coyote Kitchen when I was in school.

I've heard the Murphy's replacement, Ransom, is pretty good. Any reviews here?

My GF went there with a bunch of her girlfriends on homecoming weekend and had a pretty terrible experience service wise. Orders put in wrong, extremely long waits for drinks, allergies of a girl she was with not mentioned to the kitchen so food wasn't prepared right (luckily she caught it before eating). She said she'd give it another chance because her food was ok, but they clearly need to work on the service side of things. It's owned by the Wine 2 Water people so they've got some money to make it a solid place if they really try.

Prices at Ransom are way too high for the food items, especially compared to what price point Murphys offered.

Renovation looks nice. If Ransom does not make it, at least the space is ready for something else. Hope they can work things out.

Ransoms menu completely changed after they took over for Murphys and it isn't all that great in my opinion. Where are the loaded potato ranch cheese fries that might induce a heart attack at a moments notice?
