We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: ECU fans
For those at the game... How many members would you guess were in our band, assuming we took them all?

wow - what is your secret? - we went a few years ago - just 2 old-heads going to a see a football game - we weren't even into the parking area yet when we were called every name in the book - given every hand sign imaginable, etc. - once in the stadium we were harassed by several drunks and we weren't the only APP fans to endure this - we said right then we will never ever return to Statesboro and we haven'tappfanz wrote:not even georgia southern and i've been to every game there since they joined the conference

Re: ECU fans
I've never experienced worse fans than the ones in Statesboro. From witnessing one attempting to push over a porta-john after an App fan walks in, to being told my mother has herpes. I also witnessed the same sort of verbal assaults aimed at Chancellor Peacock.WVAPPeer wrote:wow - what is your secret? - we went a few years ago - just 2 old-heads going to a see a football game - we weren't even into the parking area yet when we were called every name in the book - given every hand sign imaginable, etc. - once in the stadium we were harassed by several drunks and we weren't the only APP fans to endure this - we said right then we will never ever return to Statesboro and we haven'tappfanz wrote:not even georgia southern and i've been to every game there since they joined the conference

I saw between 100 - 150... Don't think the whole band was there...YesAppCan wrote:For those at the game... How many members would you guess were in our band, assuming we took them all?
One thing that DID impress me was that the band stuck with it for as long as they did... While they weren't wearing their thick coats, they were wearing an almost all black uniform.
With a game that consisted of more than 300 heat-related emergencies and ECU having to rush in 5 charter buses to act as cool-down units... They were out there still playing...
There was heart shown on the field.. but I gotta give props to the band for their participation in what can be considered playing over the VENT of HELL on Saturday afternoon...
One game does not a postseason make.

Re: ECU fans
ECU fans were not an a major issue for us.
We were in a mixed group of App and ECU fans so that my have helped.
Our only issue was with a couple of App fans who were very rude to the ECU fans in our group. Standing up at a football game is not a crime despite this couples thoughts. There is a right way to go about asking someone to sit down and a wrong way.

Wow. I didn't make the NC State game. For the games I've been to, JMU by far had the worst.boonedocks wrote:I couldn't have had a better experience the last two times we were there. In 09 I walked all the way from the mall to the middle school to find my ECU buddies and didn't hear anything.
This year, I had a few people ask why we didn't bring some cool air with us and had 0 problems. The ECU games for me have probably been the best away experiences except some SoCon teams. But that is only because some of our SoCon away games feel like home games.
NC State still holds the crown for being the worst in my book, and it isn't even close.

Re: ECU fans
It was a 12 o'clock game so that in itself means that 99% fans are opposing fans are going to be cordial. It is definitely an exponential scale according to kickoff time.
Kickoff
12:00 = 1% obnoxious
1:00 = 2% obnoxious
3:00= 5% obnoxious
5:00 = 10% obnoxious
7:00= 20% obnoxious
Even though we would have to deal with some extra idiots....12:00 kickoff in Greenville, NC this time of year is just stupid.

After experiencing the ECU temps, one has to think about going to Georgia next year? Hope they have enough sense to make it a night game. That or it might become a TV game for me. I don't mind a bit spending the bucks to travel and support our guys but heat and health must be considered. If one gets to hot you run the risk of turning "purple". Come to think of it even the purple were pouring out of their stadium heading for the coolers.

Isn't the Georgia game in November? Hopefully, it won't be mid-90s then.RockCampAPP wrote:After experiencing the ECU temps, one has to think about going to Georgia next year? I did not check the schedule. Perhaps you are correct? I hope you are correct, as a November game in Georgia would be much more bearable than last weekend in Greenville.

Re: ECU fans
ECU fans were very cordial to me and my family before and after the game. We only heard one "FU Appstate" from a female ECU fans as we were walking to the stadium. After the game several ECU fans thanked us for coming.

Re: ECU fans
Was at the Marshall game in '95. After we won the game and started celebrating in the stands, our group was bombarded by Turd fans. We began leaving the stadium and the police made sure to tell us to get back to our hotel and celebrate there. We sure did! Helluva memory!GreatAppSt wrote:Did you guys ever make it to Marshall?
