Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread
Soros paid me to come on this thread and be upset.
"I'm so upset about this! We should've stayed in Division 2 where we were winning championships"

I keep noticing that the people who are always offended are the ones who bitch and complain about everyone being offended.....

An interview with coach Drinkwitz that's worth listening to:

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread
He seems to be one of the most down to earth and humble guys ever. Satterfield was a good guy, but definitely had a little bit of arrogance or ego about him it seems (not necessarily a bad thing) in interviews, but drink seems to be really laid back and pretty funny.AppGrad78 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 07, 2019 2:10 pmIntereview with coach Drinkwitz worth listening to:

He says he talked to Dexter Coakley yesterday. Would he be a candidate for our Dline coach? Probably not, but I wouldn’t be too mad.

I wouldn’t say Satt was arrogant, but he definitely did not go off script during interviews like Drink has shown his propensity to do. Satt definitely perfected “coach speak”.

That's true. Satt spoke but only repeated his two or three bullet points.

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread
There was a certain air or aloofness to the way satt spoke. Again, not bad, but Drink seems to come off a little more friendly or approachable

All the coaches were tagged in a recent tweet by App State Football except Pat Washington. He is gone I think...

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread
I understand them going to P5 programs and NFL and more money and everything, but at some point you have to wonder is it anything else.
Is it Boone’s climate?
It it boone’s Size or ethnic diversity?
Is it Drinkwitz or Gillin, BoTs, Chancellor?
Not saying this to question or undermine Drink because I truly feel he is a great coach and the right and best guy for App, but if he really is the up and comer that everyone thinks he is, wouldn’t they want to hitch their wagon to him and earn his trust, so when the big time programs come calling, they can go with him and make their money, just like Satt and his staff did.

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread
I think that this is a case of a new coach over estimating his abilities to recruit coaches to a G5 school. He will figure it out.

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread
Yeah, but they agreed to come. I'm beginning to wonder if there wasn't maybe some desperation on their part to get out of their current situation and made hasty decisions, other than Dorsey. It appears as if Boone was not really where they wanted to be and if so I'd rather see them go now. Maybe Drink was a little naive in thinking they would stick in Boone. I'm not terribly concerned with it but would like for someone to ask Coach and get his take on it.
