Fox knows he hadn’t done the job he was hired for. No surprise he knows what is coming.

It’s time to thank Fox for his efforts and for correcting the academics side of the program and then part ways. The timing should be whatever most benefits our search.

Fox will coach to the end of the season unless some major scandal in the program happens to break. If Gillin hasn't made a change by now a change won't be made until the season is over. The three game win streak assured Fox's job security until then.

Five of the last seven are at home and the two roads games are Louisiana and ULM, who we beat at home. That's the positive going forward.

At this point, Fox will have his chance to coach the team into the Sun Belt Tournament. There's a lot of parody parity in the league and we could sneak up the standings.

Right now, I'd say the goal is to get to a 7 or 8 seed and host a Sun Belt Tournament play-in game.

But it would take something special to avoid another losing season. 8-16 isn't good enough in year five.

Agreed, it would make no sense to fire him this close to the end of the season. Technically, the season is over anyway, it is what it is, just ride it out then part ways.

Meanwhile I sit here reading an actual paper, reporting UNCG is 22-3, 11-2 in the SoCon....I know they have a good team and no football, but come on, surely we can do better than last place in the SB. In the past, we've made trips up the mountain to the our Apps play some BB, but not lately...i have met Fox and found him to be a nice guy. I had high, probably unreasonable, expectations of our program with him at the helm but this year's results are just unacceptable. At some point we have to make a change. I hate it for Fox but he needs to go.
Read an ESPN article yesterday making a case for Wofford as an at large bid. Depressing.

Seeing Woofurd, Easy Teasy, and UNC-G@# contend for an NCAA bid is almost as bad as seeing the Apps floundering in last place.

I disagree. Fire him, let an assistant coach while we find a replacement, and let the replacement start getting ready for next year and recruiting when it opens. I don't think it will happen, but I also don't think it makes no sense to go ahead and do it. Like you said, the season is over.

Regardless, at this point most individuals I've spoken with realize the fat lady is signing. Part ways now or wait until the season ends, it's either six of one or half dozen of the other. (not going to waist time worrying if it's now or one month from now, just as long as it happens)

How’d we ever win eight?

She probably is, however, she has one hell of a "set of pipes" that can be heard all the way on top of Grandfather Mountain.
