Re: White-Out Announced for Charlotte Game
Per the revised Fashion Conscious Act of 2014, or the FCA14 if you prefer, and I quote, "those residing and/or visiting locales south of the Mason-Dixon line shall be granted a 10-day extension to the long-standing standard of "no white after Labor Day" so long as said party is wearing white due to one of the following conditions: 1.) continued oppressive heat & humidity, 2.) end-of-summer white-out party at your friendly neighborhood club or 3.) a commuter school from the greater Concord area needs to feel as if their arses were beaten to a pulp by an even faster team than said team performing the beating would appear at first glance."
So, I feel certain that our wearing white after Labor Day will fall within those bounds somewhere - I shall call it "The White Lightning" exception.

Re: White-Out Announced for Charlotte Game
I hope our fan base will actually wear white even if they don’t like the idea of a white out.
“I’m still wearing black!” Etc seems really childish to me.

Lol according to the Black and Gold Pod fellas, only the “fashionistas” will be wearing white. Agreed, very childish.

If you want a true white out, you need to hand out shirts. Hard for me to believe and accept that we can't get enough sponsorship from local businesses/resorts and a decent rate from a local screen printing place to make this happen.

Nothing saying your white shirt can’t have black and gold on it, I’m fine with the colors. I don’t like giving our opponent the idea we think we need this against them. I’ll be in white regardless, but still.

Some of you over think this concept. I mean really. Must be nice to have no problems.

I have plenty of problems. Wearing white to 1 game a year that isn’t Georgia Southern isn’t one of them.

Who cares what we wear!! It's football whatever gets the players up for a game I'm cool with.
Ugh! Don't get me started on those B&G fanboy podcasters. The crowd that's bemoaning and saying we only wear black are tiresome. Those dudes barely bring constructive football talk to their show. It's like we went into the stands and picked two dudes that graduated in 08' and still sit with the students. There is space for them just not for serious football podcasts.

Friend, I'm not sure what your problem is but the "Black Saturday" thing is a tradition. If you haven't been around long enough to understand that, perhaps you should save your 25 posts for more constructive comments. Most of us are ok with new ideas like the "white out" and are cooperating, but message boards are a place where grievances get spewed pretty freely, even your toxic BS.smokeshow wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2019 11:55 amWho cares what we wear!! Those two guys who do the B&G Podcast do an outstanding job, so unless your stepping up to produce something better, can you table the insults, please?

If you think you can do better, do better. I’m in the car over an hour a day, and can use more Appalachian State podcasts.smokeshow wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2019 11:55 amWho cares what we wear!! It's football whatever gets the players up for a game I'm cool with.

Re: White-Out Announced for Charlotte Game
I led the charge against the whiteout in 2016, but this time, I want to take a different approach.
How about we take the whiteout and use it as a chance to contribute to the UNC Charlotte Niner Nation Unites fund to to support those affected by the April 30 shooting. The profits from all white shirt sales can be donated, etc. This will be Charlotte's second game and I'm sure their first game (at home versus Gardner-Webb) will be very emotional and hard for them.

Why do this? I remember back in 2005 App raised over $100K for Hurricane Katrina relief and presented it on the field at LSU. App State has shown they can be better together over the years and I think we can take the divisive nature of this promotion and flip it into a positive.
EDIT: Also, we could change Heroes Day from the last home game versus Texas State to this game because Riley Howell of Waynesville is a hero.

Re: White-Out Announced for Charlotte Game
For years VaTech has announced its jersy/fan shirt color for the entire season so fans can plan. I think it would be of interest to our fans for App to do that. We can all take great pride in Black Saturday. Honestly on TV the white or gold shows up better than black. There’s room for all. Since we have Snow White out makes sense. Maybe it’s Blizzard Condition for us. I think everyone on this board loves our traditions, but adding a few more might actually help. And I agree with doing something to show our support for UNCC and that we remember their loss. Go Apps!
