2019 Ga Southern game need some advice

Unread post by goappstate19 » Mon Jun 24, 2019 2:02 pm

Coming to the big game and as strange as it sounds we are 3 new App State fans. We want to get some good tickets and enjoy the pregame tailgating scene in Boone.

Would appreciate any tips on best way/place to score good tickets as well as where to go pregame to soak in the App State scene.
Having someone drop us off so we dont need parking but really just some good inside info tips on where to go in Boone.

Thanks In Advance!

Tip 1: Don't call it Appy State. :) "App State," "Appalachian," "App," or maybe "ASU" if you must. But "Appy" makes heads explode.

Tip 2: You can often find good seats directly through the ticket office. GaSo is always a big game, but being on a Thursday night will mean the crowd will likely be a little lighter than usual, so I don't know if it will sell out. At least not right away. https://tkt.xosn.com/tickets/BuyTickets ... T_LIST_ID= Single game tickets usually go on sale in late August.

Tip 3: No one is 100% sure what tailgating will be like this year. The west side of campus, near the stadium, is all under construction. There will be significant tailgating in what's left of Stadium Lot, I'm sure, but I don't know how much there will be. Raley Lot (on Rivers St) is usually a good bet, too, as are the top levels of the parking decks and any other major surface lot. Once again, this will be quieter than usual since this is a weeknight game, but still worth checking out.

Tip 4: This is all assuming you're not secretly a GaSo fan. If you are, most people will still be nice to you as long as you aren't a turd and can handle a little friendly ribbing. #failsouthern.

I don't mean to embarrass you, but I think those are actually a myth.

As Appchicago pointed out, tailgating is a unknow this year. I would say check out the Railey or Duncan lots. If you don’t know Boone hit Kings street before the game. Hope you have a great time.

I can't make that game. I have two seats and my dad has two seats in Section 112. I'm willing to part ways with my two for FREE (Always down for help in showing new fans a good time). If he doesn't plan to attend the game we will have all of your tickets taken care of for you. Also, not sure what lot I will be assigned, but I have a $1,500 donor level parking spot available should you need it. I won't have the tickets until August, but you can PM me your personal email address and we can stay in touch.

Welcome to the Family! As was mentioned, I think we will all have a better idea about parking and tailgating after a couple of home games. Lots of change this season. Stay tuned leading up to the game.

Of course if he/she is a GS fan they will be" skert" to sit in the middle of App fans!!

How does a person become a new App State fan? Not that we aren't happy to have new fans, but this introduction is interesting. Curiosity getting the better of me.

For the record...I love “Appy State” and “Happy Appy”. I was and always will be a Happy Appy. All of my days at App were Happy. It is a special place. I will never understand what is wrong with Appy state.

It sounds condescending and patronizing especially when a UNC, UNCC, and GS fans say it not to mention sportscasters.

I hate to be cynical, but I expect we're going to get a good number of these types of requests for tickets this year with UNCC and Stink coming to Boone.

I want opposing fans to have a great time in the High Country and see first hand why App and Boone is so special, but be honest with who you are and what you're doing. If I've got an extra ticket, I don't mind a passionate fan getting it.

If you don't want your tickets to go to an opponent, ask them a couple of questions only an App fan would know.

Playing the what if card with confidence....

Undefeated that year, and the semi-final is in Boone. There was no snow in Boone that day.

Which means they are not on Yosef's Cabin religiously. Possible red flag if you ask me.
