Re: Official Buckie prediction thread
I can't believe so many expect 45-60 point win today. ETSU is playing us like a team going into their Super Bowl. I kept saying we have to be careful with this team. They are good enough to give us fits in week one. If this was week 6 or 7 I would have said this would be 63-3 or something but week one is always a tossup as to how things will go.
We have to give them credit for giving us a good first half.
This game on offense also shows us that Sutton is indeed a big time talent and missed. When he got suspended I felt that might cost us 1-2 TDs. He is the best WR in the SBC and we need him to be at full force. I hope he is ready and puts up a monster game next week.

I feel like we are also seeing the growing pains in the new offensive system. They will work out the kinks. Lucky to have two easy games to start.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2019 4:15 pmI can't believe so many expect 45-60 point win today. ETSU is playing us like a team going into their Super Bowl. Replay didn’t show much. Kinda looked like maybe turf toe or something, perhaps?Boroneer10 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2019 4:29 pmCan anyone describe what happened to Peoples? Everyone on Twitter is acting like he’s dead.

I think what you are seeing is a direct result of running a very vanilla offense to focus on executing our bread and butter play.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2019 4:15 pmI can't believe so many expect 45-60 point win today. We beat a 32 point spread and held them to 7 and this is the tone of the cabin?!
I’m only concerned with pass coverage and I think that’ll improve with film study and reps.

Honestly, that was a pretty clean game by App. That throw by Huesman was a man’s throw.

I hope no one is suggesting vanilla playcalling is a bad thing in a season opener against a SoCon team.

People accused me of being overly optimistic about this game and our team.

Re: Official Buckie prediction thread
Observations--
Good
We are very disciplined, not alot of blown coverages or penalties on either side of the ball.
Methodical on offense--no late calls to the huddle, good tempo. Didn't show a whole lot, but didn't need to.
Team seemed well conditioned.
Bad
Zero pass rush
Lack of fire on defense
