You all understand that prospective players and their families and coaches have access to this board, right? Gonzo's point about needing to be "diplomatic" is spot on. We can discuss issues without making it a personal attack on an individual. As I mentioned in another post, we don't know what was said and decided in those game planning sessions. Roof might have been told to use this game to try some different things, unless you were in the room, you don't know.

Some current players’ parents have the same concerns/opinions we do.... *hint hint*. I am sure a prospect who just saw UNCC hang 40+ on us would like to know that that is not acceptable up on the mountain.

I just picture Sean Paytons face now everytime I see you comment. We are all being civil on here and you are being contradictory and confrontational. Specifically targeting me, which is fine. So let’s look at the numbers. Charlotte rushed for 240 yards on 41 carries. If you take away Lemays 58 yard run and Fingers 68 yard run, we held them to under 3 yards a carry. I infer from this that we don’t have a scheme problem but missed assignments. To the point made on the lack of adjustments on the slants, fair point, but you can only do so much. The game plan was probably stop the run and see if Reynolds could beat them. He played well enough to do it, with some nice dimes and he took advantage of our inexperienced corners. As a coach, you pick your poison and hope it doesn’t kill you.

Yeah let’s take away 58 and a 68 yard run up the middle ! It looks good now what the hell kind of post is this?

You can't just "take away" those scores without somehow giving us back the benefit of the possession. We very likely would have scored anyway since we did score on most possessions. Had those been sustained scores, we wouldn't have put our D back on the field and would have eaten more clock, so it might have actually been more one sided! You can't really play the "what if" games. I'm not suggesting we didn't want the points, but quick scores are a mixed blessing when the D is struggling.

It was sarcasm which I realize doesn’t play well sometimes, but your point about us looking bad because we were tired doesn’t hold water. Anyway on to an open week and I’m all about redemption.

By now I’d think everyone west of I-95 knows the defense has to improve, but how long must the team apologize for a 15 point win and a 2-0 start?
After a while, it gets to be like that obnoxious drunk guy sitting behind you at the stadium spending the whole game yelling obscenities at the coaches and just won’t let it go. In two weeks, if there is no improvement, I’m sure we’ll revisit the topic, but for now, it’s time to accentuate the positive. Beat UNC!

I agree ... I really think Drink will right the ship. It is fixable due to our talent. I just think we shouldn’t start deleting threads unless they violate board rules. If our D doesn’t get better then we know where to go.

I think they improve. I think they are pissed off and embarrassed as they should be.

I actually am starting to think it was a good thing being exposed. Now it can be addressed before one of our bigger games. Maybe we should send concord a thank you note. They might have just saved our season.

That’s the thing that I think has a lot of us worried. There is a history there. He hasn’t worked for Drink yet so hopefully Drink can fix him.

Our defense was great ... make it better or go away .... that was discusting to watch.

If you wanna call me contradictory because I’m not lighting this season or staff on fire after a win then yeah feel free. If you wanna call me confrontational cause i just don’t take what you say as gospel and offering my opinions, then yeah feel free. You’ll probably respond that you’re just telling us info from inside the program but you really haven’t offered up anything more than generalities. My goal here isn’t to be confrontational but i just don’t agree with narrative you’ve been trying to set here.
