You're thinking about the first ever sporting event broadcast on ESPN - which may have been their first broadcast ever, period. I read a neat article about it the other day - they had lost the tapes and they weren't recovered for 25-30 years after.asu7 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2019 8:39 pmMilwaukee Wisconsin semi pro softball World Series. I think that they should’ve put a dome over Conrad stadium and called it Condome stadium!

I knew all my years of tirelessly reading through all sorts of useless and pointless post would someday pay off someday. Today, I am a winner!

Pusey graduated from Avery High. By way, so did Paul Johnson.MAD Doctor wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 11:00 amYep. Was there. Re: Which App Player
I think the article is wrong. I was a freshman the fall of 79 and we didn't have Western at home that season. It was the year before. I had just made the decision to attend App as a Senior in high school and I stumbled across the App/Western game on a crazy new network focused only on sports. It was the first App game I watched and it was so cool to see my future school on TV.MAD Doctor wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 11:00 amYep. Was there. Which team got a goal post through the windshield of their bus?
Justin Seaverns lost the tip of his pinky inside his glove against Furple...and kept playing.

Yes! Seaverns! I've been thinking about that all day. I knew it was Justin, could not remember his last name. Loved watching him play.brocktune90 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 3:25 pmWhich team got a goal post through the windshield of their bus?

Betcha your favorite beverage. It was my freshman year- the game was definitely 1979. I remember it well- I can see the cheerleaders circling the track on the fire truck.Rick83 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 3:09 pmI still don't think that's correct...going to do more research.gsoappfan wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 2:26 pmLooks like the game was in Boone in '79:

Re: Which App Player
If that's the case then I must have been drinking too much of my favorite beverage, which wasn't unusual at the time. I don't remember it like that at all...MAD Doctor wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 3:49 pmBetcha your favorite beverage. It was my freshman year- the game was definitely 1979.
