I'm not sure if you've been around here much, but to answer your question...many if us dont feel we are that good this year and are very concerned. Could be a tough oneWASU 93 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2019 8:02 pmIf we are good enough and as good as we think we are this year, we'll go in and win the game regardless of what happens tonight or how tough they are to close out.AppSt12 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2019 7:24 pmI would love to be wrong...but I dont think most people realize what a tough out North Carolina can be. Are we a better program? Of course. But they can score quickly and always get stud athletes. Hope wake crushes their spirit....the heels should not be taken lightly.
We don't have to be lucky or catch UNC looking ahead to beat them. We just have to continue our offensive and special teams prowess and go out an play the defense we are capable of playing.

This is not been to disagree with you, but one could argue that his forward progress was stopped while he was in bounds.

Yea it was a first down so they should have stopped the clock to move the chains. But like the announcer said, the clock doesn’t stop until they blow it dead. O well. I’m not going to lose sleep over it.

They weren’t screwed, that ref clearly felt forward progress was stopped in field and thus swung his arm to continue the clock. I hate it for them, but that back should’ve ran out of bounds. That’s on the player.

Re: UNC @ Wake (9/13)
Even if that had taken place, no way they get a play off with one second on the clock. They set the ball and start the clock. If the ball carrier would have gotten out of bounds with a second left they would have gotten a play off but it would have been a serious long shot. Ultimately the ref ruled that forward progress was stopped in bounds and the clock ran out.

I went to my fair share of UT games when Mack was in Austin. Mismanaging games his last couple of years is why he USED to be the UT coach.

Never mind they got away with the worst decades long NCAA violations of all time, that would have gotten anyone else the death penalty, they were robbed of one second in a game in which they never led. Life’s never fair for the poor boys in blue.

Let’s put them out of their misery next week and remind them that their football program belongs in the cellar of NC Collegiate Athletics.

Re: UNC @ Wake (9/13)
He actually pulled up to try and find a hole where there was none. Had he ran straight out of bounds at full speed continuing at the same angle they would have had at least 3 seconds, unquestioned. They deserve to lose based on calling run plays in that drive.ukappfan wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2019 9:19 pmVery true. And I mean how do you not go out there? I think most fans on here think that we are good. I think many were very disappointed with the defensive performance last week and that we didn’t play up to our potential.AppSt12 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2019 8:22 pmI'm not sure if you've been around here much, but to answer your question...many if us dont feel we are that good this year and are very concerned. We will see what happens Saturday, but I still think we’re a better team than Carolina and don’t know that they can stop our offense.

Re: UNC @ Wake (9/13)
Watching us last week I’m not sure how I’d claim we’re the better team. The defense I saw last week will get blasted by a better QB and WRs.
Looking forward to seeing how much we’ve progressed this bye week.
