Zac Thomas

Unread post by Rekdiver » Thu Oct 10, 2019 8:58 am

I watched the maturing of a QB last night. Zac went through his progressions, had the mental clock in his head and made good reads. Now a couple of passes were ill-advised but all in all I was pleased with the progress I'm seeing...plus he gave major sincere kudos to the defense.

Bottom line on Zac is that's he's a winner. Whatever is working to win is what he's going to do.

Glad he had a nice game since UL fans didn't have any respect for him.

We’re in year 6 of this Sun Belt experiment and half the league still acts surprised when we win. No surprise that some don’t respect Zac or anyone else in the Black and Gold. Bless their hearts but they don’t know what they don’t know.

That's why I love going 1-0 every week and piling up conference titles even more. Zero respect for us and Georgia Southern because we are the newer teams. The funny thing is the way they look at us is the way Miss State looked at them. Zero respect. The difference is here the team who has zero respect for the "lesser team in their mind" came out with a loss. Louisiana was not better than us when we were in I-AA/FCS so why would they expect to be now? lol

2014 6-2
2015 7-1
2016 7-1
2017 7-1
2018 7-1

36-6 ALL TIME IN THE SUN BELT

I think we have plenty of respect on the field.

We do from coaches but if you listen to fans at Arkansas State, Louisiana, etc they still think they were just in a down spot and should have beaten us. Louisiana still thought they were superior to us by far this year. I think our results show we are the best but many fans still don't admit it. Funny thing, I pull for Louisiana and the rest in OOC games. I want our league to look as strong as possible so a SBC title carries some weight.

We and Georgia Southern flat out embarrassed the conference because we came in and cleaned house like Hall and Nash in WCW and took the conference title and beat everyone the first year, including Sun Belt perennial favorites Louisiana and stAte.

Over the years, we have made it clear on the field, in fund raising appeals, quality of coaching and making provisions to keep them that we want to be an elite program. In his first presser, Drink called us a top 25 program. DG acts like we are an elite program and hires top support staff. I'm not sure all of our Belt brethren see this or understand our passion to do so. As times and seasons pass it will become clear to them.

That is pretty much both of us, we more than GSU, have done it.

We are indeed still considered the "outsiders" still in their minds.

ZT didn't look 100 percent on Wednesday, like he had been sick or something. He was sweating early in the game and had a look in his eyes that was slightly off. Looked the same during the plays though.
