There was some talk of getting them to the Belk Bowl IF a place was open due to the SEC not being able to fill their own bowl allotment. The Belk Bowl cold still be open if 3 SEC teams get into a NY6 bowl. Charlotte would make some sense for attendance reasons./\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2019 1:22 pmI thought Belk Bowl was specifically for SEC v.s. Also with Miss St winning a lot of Charlotte fans will not be going to a bowl game since they may have to now drive more than 10 minutes to get to a game. They were hoping a Ole Miss win would open up the Belk Bowl for them. Charlotte will still be bowling more than likely but likely in a place that will not draw many 49er fans.

They believe Charlotte would bring more fans than App State? Obviously the issue for App is contractual agreements with a non-ESPN owned entity in the Sun Belt. Also Louisiana stands in the way of that contract standing in the way.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2019 1:48 pmThere was some talk of getting them to the Belk Bowl IF a place was open due to the SEC not being able to fill their own bowl allotment. Oh, I agree that App would draw more than Charlotte, but I think the Belk Bowl knows that App is going to be tied to a SB bowl or the Cotten this year, whereas the Belk might have been looking at an open spot AND CUSA having more teams eligible than bowl spots which could have worked to get Charlotte into the Belk.ericsaid wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2019 2:28 pmThey believe Charlotte would bring more fans than App State? Was that televised? I would have loved to have seen that.

Thanks, hotrod. Not as dumb as the canine urination flub, but still dumb.

Or.......maybe this one that happened to Wofford in the FCS playoffs vs. NIU?
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

Looks like more fans there than at our championship game. Good grief.
