Re: APP -3.5
This game worries me, we should be a bigger favorite. These guys have wood for us. We better bring our A game. If we do we can win.

Re: APP -3.5
The performance, while great, was more to do with the opponent. Not disparaging the performance, just saying we can play that same way next week with a much closer result.

ULL is much better than Troy. If we somehow beat ULL like a drum as well then I will be very impressed. I'll just be happy to win and stay undefeated against these guys.

Same here. First game we opened -2. The line says UL has closed the gap?

Don’t let anyone fool you...Going to the game, and cheering on the Mountaineers can make a difference in the outcome. Hope all will decide to head up the Mountain one more time this year. See you in Kidd Brewer Saturday.

Re: APP -3.5
Many out there will know better than I, but I think that this simply means that the early money is in favor of the Apps to cover, not necessarily that they think that 3-1/2 was light. Corrections are appreciated.

If they expect App to cover wouldn't that inherently mean they think the 3.5 was light?John-N-Houston wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2019 2:30 pmMany out there will know better than I, but I think that this simply means that the early money is in favor of the Apps to cover, not necessarily that they think that 3-1/2 was light. Unless you are actually putting real money on the game who cares what the spread is? And why worry simply because we are ONLY favored by 3.5 or even 6 points? Vegas doesn’t dictate anything. We own La.

We take care of business like they should this game will not be in doubt. Would not have been as close last time without their kicking game. Remember the last drive was 97 yards for our last score? App is the better team, just need to show it 1-0.

Re: APP -3.5
Show me the numbers as they pertain to App. What has the line been for our last 20 or so games and what was the result. I’m only saying that we have guys who all of a sudden worry because we aren’t favored enough.

Re: APP -3.5
I agree no reason to worry. I mean the line was way off with the ULL vs ULM game and I thought that was strange. I expected a 10 point line because they are a rival. We beat ULL by 10 on the road but like us they have had weeks where they start slow or don't win by as much as they should. The media seems to like ULL a little more because they have been around longer.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2019 3:17 pmShow me the numbers as they pertain to App. What has the line been for our last 20 or so games and what was the result. Here is a hot take. In 10 years from now there will be a team who is not FBS yet who will be saying the same thing about us. In time we will get the benefit of the doubt. My big concern is that we may struggle to get good P5 teams to play us unless we are in the AAC and even then why would you if you are in the SEC, Big 12, or Big Ten.

Re: APP -3.5
Blame the weak scheduling amongst the P5 upper crust on the super sizing of conferences as well as conference championship games......with these constants they can't hardly afford tough OOC games. Notre Dame is somewhat of an exception on a yearly basis because they are Independent.
If the NCAA would only ever decide to go to a true top 16 or 20 playoff system which would require shortening the regular season by a game or two.

Re: APP -3.5
My idea to possibly fix it all is for the committee to select the top 4 who get a bye. Instead of conference championship games instead select the next 8 (to include the highest ranked G5- I’m sure a G5 will still struggle to be voted in the top 12 consistently. Let those 8 play 4 games at the home of the highest seed. Let 5 play 12, 6 play 11, and so forth. Those 4 winners play the bye teams in the 4 major bowls. That serves as the beginning of the playoffs. The losers of the first round go on to play a regular bowl game. There is still plenty to play for all year and this would even allow for teams to play tougher schedules because a two loss good P5 would still be in the top 12. A good 1 loss G5 would get in as well.CornCobPipes wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2019 4:10 pmBlame the weak scheduling amongst the P5 upper crust on the super sizing of conferences as well as conference championship games......with these constants they can't hardly afford tough OOC games.
