Wait just a minute - all I've read is that the Troy RB stable was the best in the league and that none of our RBs would sniff the rotation for them. However, reading this list, I can't really find many of them on there. I know they had some injury issues, but something must be wrong.

In all seriousness, congrats to all our student athletes for being selected to their respective all conference teams. They earned the designation and should be very proud of their accomplishments!
Give 'em hell!

Smith is a good player but the best RB stables are Louisiana and App. Troy is 3rd best.

Keep this in mind. Of the 21 spots where we have a player honored 11 are coming back next year and if somehow Evans changes his mind and returns that will be 14 of the 21 spots. Nick Hampton, Camerun Peoples, Ryan Huff, and others who were either hurt or backups that we can all see are going to be All-SBC players did not make the list but will fill in spots next year.

Below are those coming back for sure. I'm still hoping Evans changes his mind and comes back. We don't have to have him but I want him back. We will have a 2020 1st team All-SBC RB regardless but I would like to see him get it one more year.

2019 SUN BELT FOOTBALL POSTSEASON HONORS
All-Sun Belt First Team
Offense
Noah Hannon, Appalachian State (Jr., OL, Greer, S.C.)

Defense
Demetrius Taylor, Appalachian State (Jr., DL, Miami, Fla.)
Shaun Jolly, Appalachian State (So., DB, Stone Mountain, Ga.)

All-Sun Belt Second Team
Offense
Thomas Hennigan, Appalachian State (Jr., WR, Greensboro, N.C.)
Corey Sutton, Appalachian State (Jr., WR, Cornelius, N.C.)
Cooper Hodges, Appalachian State (Fr., OL, Glen St. Mary, Fla.)
Baer Hunter, Appalachian State (Jr., OL, Clemmons, N.C.)

All-Sun Belt Third Team
Offense
Zac Thomas, Appalachian State (RJr., QB, Trussville, Ala.)

All-Sun Belt Honorable Mention
Ryan Neuzil, Appalachian State (Jr., OL, Bradenton, Fla.)
Marcus Williams Jr., Appalachian State (Jr., RB, Rocky Mount, N.C.)
Malik Williams, Appalachian State (Jr., WR, Chester, S.C.)

Zac has more yards, passing TDs, more rushing TDs, a higher QBR, and less picks than Ellington, yet he's the 3rd team QB and not 2nd?

Definitely more of an award for being a senior than actual play...

I feel that this is one of those instances where the league felt like they couldn't give EVERY spot to a Mountaineer, simply for optics. But a case could be made in several spots.

Honestly, if you aren't worried about optics I think you could argue that maybe just 6 first-team players do not play for App or Louisiana. Thomas is the best QB in the league. ULL and App have 6 of the top 8 RBs in the league and probably 7 of the top 10 overall. There are some really good individual players at other teams but outside of maybe 5-6 guys we saw all year I could argue that combining ULL and App is essentially the 1st team All-SBC. lol

I see why Billy Napier got coach of the year first 10 win team, but I'm sure there was an decent argument for Drinkwitz, P5 wins, 11-1 regular, undefeated on the road, rankings.

Guess we'll just have to show him who's boss on Saturday.

Just watch. He is supposedly still thinking about it but he wants to go and agents are telling him to go. It will be a mistake in my mind because he will miss out on a great 2020 and the chance to increase his stock to 2nd or 3rd round but I'm hearing he is leaning towards going.
