Re: Who stays, who goes?
John Settle may be the most underappreciated assistant in college football. Outside of that debacle of the Cleveland Browns in 2013 he has always maintained a stable of highly productive RBs. I would love to see him move up to OC to see how he does at calling plays.ViewCrew87 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 5:46 pmOur own Big John Settle is their RB coach.HkyMtneer wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 1:37 pmOne can hope! But Whisky seems to just line up stud RB's. Of course, they usually flame out in the league after putting up monster #'s in Madison, but that won't help us.Apple@chin1 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 11:40 amSpeaking of Wisconsin’s running game next year, I believe Johnathan Taylor will be leaving early for the NFL.

I know we did it last year to an extent but geez, we are gonna be without 3 onfield coaches and our OC. This is gonna be a tall task for Coach Clark and staff. Rally Boys! GO APPS!!

Interesting that he is still listed on the page. I think DJ will want to come back after a year out there. App is home to him. I figured Roof stays if his son wants to stay in school. I'm sure Roof has an offer from Drink.

Hard pass on Lonnie. I’d take Mario back for sure. Stacy? Sure.....Sparky, indifferentVNova wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 2:22 pmSparky Woods - No infomoonshine wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 1:30 pmNot to go off topic as I was thinking of coaches Clark might be able to bring in and thought about Searels and Acitelli. I did not realize, and didn't check earlier in the season when App played them, but there are several former App coaches/players on UNC's staff besides Mack.
Sparky Woods
Stacy Searels
Lonnie Galloway
Mario Acitelli
Stacy Searels - $300,000
Lonnie Galloway - $400,000
Mario Acitelli - No info
We might be able to afford Acitelli, but the others would be a stretch. I'm not sure what Sparky Woods gets paid as a Senior Advisor. Would any want to return?

He did not. And it was a bit of a goat rodeo. Kids were missing gloves and socks. Our guys persevered, but it was a mess.

When I had to fill in as sports reports for a week in October, I decided to do a story on special teams and talked to Link. Shows a bit how App has been solid in ST this season.

Appstatealum, what are you hearing? Hate to hear DJ and Cheese are gone. Once Clark is officially announced will we be hearing of a staff shortly after?appstatealum wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 7:10 pmHe did not. And it was a bit of a goat rodeo. Should we anticipate Drink taking any others with him? GO APPS!!

Wouldn’t Jones have to take a sizable pay cut to come back from an ACC school?

Re: Who stays, who goes?
Abnormally quiet today. Haven't been able to get much out of anybody. I had a big office party today, so between cooking and serving my folks, I didn't have much Adam Schefter time. I'm hoping the quiet is good and everything is lined up for tomorrow.appstate24 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 8:00 pmAppstatealum, what are you hearing? Hate to hear DJ and Cheese are gone. As far as naming staff, I'm guessing he may wait until after the Bowl Game unless he is filling recently vacated spots. He probably is keeping the guys who aren't taking other jobs for the Bowl Game. My guess is he brings some of the 90-00 guys that are currently in the coaching ranks here if we can afford it. I personally would love to see BJM here as DC, and have heard Clark's circle throwing his name around. I think he has a short list already.but focus is on the Bowl game now.
Not to throw water on the party, but nothing is set in stone despite the "Clark is already the HC" articles. My guess is that it's a done deal, but I'll be slightly anxious until I hear an official press conference.

Correct. Being back in Boone doesn't have a price tag for him.

Re: Who stays, who goes?
I'm thinking EJ would not report this without a blood pact with somebody in place. BJM would be a smart hire. Cant see Roof taking a demotion and staying on staff without being DC. Dont know him, but seems that he would not like that.appstatealum wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 8:23 pmAbnormally quiet today. Haven't been able to get much out of anybody. Re: Who stays, who goes?
A lot of factors in play. I can verify most of what is stated above. Money while not an issue for all is for others. DJ Smith stands to get a huge bump in pay. Jones has no money worries. He didn’t want to leave and has a huge personal stake in coming back.We also have geee I don’t know how many knocking on the door trying to get in. May be a few surprises on the way, but I’m not hearing more than a few. Things look really good long term. Got to sign our recruits and beat UAB first !
