UAB has a couple of Athletes, but they aren't much more than a mediocre team this year. Their favorable schedule is what landed them the opportunity to get crushed by our Mountaineers. We are better than them on ALL fronts. If our guys come out playing as inspired football as I think they will, this will be a beat down of epic proportions. No amount of scheming on UAB's behalf should slow us down.

My prediction.... 63-10. #SPTA #TIGMA
Maybe I'm dumb but what does #SPTA stand for? It's driving me crazy

I’ve watched 2 of their replay games since yesterday. Defense is pretty solid and they swarm the ball. Don’t they they can stop our high powered offense though. I would put their offense on the same level as Texas State or South Alabama. Maybe not as good. Our D tends to get rabid in bowl games which is what I thrive on.
So is the D going to put up some of those 60+ points predicted by Appstatealum?
#8 SJC should have redemption on his mind after his performance against ULL. Akeem, Josh and Fehr are going to want to go out big. D. Taylor feeds off crowd energy and we all know what Jolly will do if they throw his way. I wouldn't be surprised to see 14pts from the defense.
Yeah our D really put up some points this year. Just working from memory, D put up TD’s on UNC, USC, GS and ULL. I might have missed some but that alone is stout and that’s how you win football games.
We are tied for 2nd in the nation with 5 Defensive TD’s. We also had the Strip-Sack and Scoop against UNCC

No, I was referring to Charlotte. Demetrius Taylor sacked the Charlotte QB and Jordan Fehr scooped it and took it into the end zone. (But my memory is wrong, we scored the next play--nice catch)

Our other defensive TD was an interception return by Sean Jolly vs. Coastal.

I know nothing about UAB. It may be a heck of a game. We may get beat. But I HOPE we dominate this game like no other this year and put up the most points and yards on offense by far on the season. Anyone know the most yards in a single game we put up this season?
I see it was 572 yards and 52 points. Maybe we can put up 600 and 60.

UAB Head Coach Bill Clark deserves all the credit in the world for what he's done there. He stayed after the admins shut down the program in Dec. 2014. Six months later after rallying people around the cause (including big $$$), they got UAB Football reinstated by those same admins. And then he's gone and won CUSA and made the CUSA title game two years in a row. He's also got a practice facility plus a new stadium on the way.

If UAB had better leadership that didn't fear the almighty elephant in the state, they would have been in the AAC or P5 by now.

UAB has won a bunch of games the last couple of years. Our guys need to be well prepared but I don't see our kids not putting on a true clinic

Teams who win games keep the faith and don't quit. Louisiana didn't quit and damn-near came back last week. UAB has won games. I've seen teams with less talent play App in the FCS Playoffs and win because they won games and found ways to win.

We can't take our foot off the gas like we did last week.

I had actually read somewhere that we lead the nation in non offensive td’s with 7.

UAB is better than some of us are acting, we wont beat they by 60. I understand the weakness of CUSA, but 9-4 and Conference USA runner up should equate to a top 5-6 opponent weve played this year.

They did keep it way to close with Alabama State, reminds me of Central Arkansas beating Arkansas State. Sometimes interstate matches are tougher than they appear. They then went on to beat Akron, South Alabama, Rice, UTSA, Old Dominion and UTEP by double digits. They beat North Texas (who had a very tough OOC schedule and was probably better than record indicates) and beat 9-3 LA Tech.

They played a close 7 point game with Western Kentucky and got smacked by Southern Miss, Tennessee and Florida Atlantic. Lost to 4 bowl teams. Pretty much beat every team they should, and lost to every team they should except an upset win over LA Tech.

App State 35-17 UAB.

I believe we will use tightends and screens early and more than we have all year. That'll loosen up the 3-headed run machine - lights out.
Is there something about the UAB defense that makes you think this or is it more about the coaching change?
Coaching change - it's a wrinkle that has not been utilized much at all this season - Drink basically used TEs for blocking - Both Reed & Pearson have great hands.
Yep. I can promise you that we will see more of Pearson next Saturday. This guy apparently is incredible and Watts is probably ready to show him off.
I hope so. Using these tight ends to only block prevented us from extending drives. The inability to extend drives and keep our defense off the field cost us the Southern game and made many of our wins too close for comfort. Using the tights ends properly will enable us to extend these drives. Making our wins even greater and increasing our margin of victory. Let’s go TEs

Let’s get to NOLA and finish our mission of the year. Can’t wait to see these guys raise Clark up after his first amazing game. #letthesmartclarkplaycallingbegin

That DT Marino is really good but I don't think they have enough like him. LB Moll and a WR Watkins are pretty good. They also have a young DL Jordan Smith who apparently is pretty good but I don't think they have enough either. I was going to guess 35-14 but I would love to see 60+ in this one. I hope Shawn does not shut it down early on. I want to put as many points on the board as possible.

Just noticed... We’re tied with UCF (vs. Marshall?) for biggest points spread in bowl games. Florida and ULL are tied for second (14, I think). Not many double digit spreads, period.

I know this is CRAZY, but how nice would it be to matchup up all the non NY6 games to put on the best slate of games available. Regional matchups, teams who profile similarly to up the intrigue for players and fans. But the world we live in is about one $, and the "tie ins" really prevent us from getting the best possible bowl season.

I agree 100%! But just to clarify, I’m talking about the predicted spreads for this season’s bowls. They’re actually pretty tight with the exceptions of us, UCF, FLA, and ULL.. BTW, congrats on yesterday! Perry is a ground pounding monster!!!
