I didn’t justify anything because we don’t have to. The fact is the man that created the mantra brought it to the program he created. How can you imply that was taken? Sounds more like it was given. Also what’s your definition of stolen? Let’s hear the origins of App States use of GATA in the 90s? I’ve literally never seen your team use it. STPA sounds painful but I’m interested in the backstory on that one.

This is BY FAR the tradition that needs to come back loud and proud. I don’t think the students know it and maybe the last ten years of students.

Here's an unpopular opinion (and possibly the reason why they've stopped using it):

2 syllables ("Kick Ass") works much better at the end of the fight song than three ("Give 'Em Hell").

It is a different chant. Give em hell is after the drum line, not the fight song. Anyone able to post a sound bite explaining. No technical skills here.

The story I've heard from multiple 90s players was that the defensive guys used to use the "GATA" mantra before conference games as a coach used to yell it at them. They said when the rivalry rekindled in '93, they heard some GaS guys using it after they heard App said it. Honestly, who knows where the App coach got it, he could've easily ripped it off too.

Being happy after Going 10-3 and 8-4 and beating your two rivals two years in a row after going 5-7 and 4-10 is a good thing and far from ignorant my friend, plus I’d rather beat you while your on top anyways. We’ve got the right man in place and I wouldn’t be surprised to see both of us play a rivalry game where we’re both ranked in the near future. I also think such a game would be much more interesting. Here’s to hoping we get this game back on Saturdays.
