Re: SUNBELT VS CUSA post season
But that loss by GSU looks bad. I don't think Liberty is very good.
Those who aren't clueless in the media know that the SBC is better than CUSA and MAC. MAC is the worst G5 league. I'm pulling hard for our SBC brethren. I truly hope they win. It helps with our perception and it is good that our league does well. I'm pulling hard for for Louisiana and Georgia State. I think at least one of them wins for sure. The league should at worst case be 3-2 in bowls and I really believe it could go 4-1.

Now that the season is over I'm going to say it one last time...how in the hell did we lose to that team???
I watched that bowl game yesterday and GS looked terrible.

Their type of football was perfect for that night. They got up and out hit us. We just couldn’t get out of our way on offense. Had a chance at the end.

eh, if SB is to go 4-1, I don't mind those butt holes being the team to take the loss. I'm perfectly fine with their bowl loss.

I enjoyed one announcer calling them Georgia State in the middle of the game.

I hate making excuses because great teams win games no matter what, but I think the weather really was the difference. I watched Liberty fling the ball around all game with impunity. It was raining a little, but nothing like what was happening on Halloween. I think if that game is played on any other day, App wins 10 times out of 10.

GS’s hashtag for every game is #BeatAppState because that is the only game they prepare for all season.

Right! They are already game planning for next year. I’m willing to bet they get some sand paper next yearNattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2019 8:13 pmGS’s hashtag for every game is #BeatAppState because that is the only game they prepare for all season.

I am glad you guys are talking about this. It's interesting that yes ASU lost to them but ASU / Drinkwitz gave other teams the blue print on how to beat them, quick passes to boundaries, throw over them to the sideline, and send 4 WR's at their LB's. If Drinkwitz would have just took the chances it would have been different. Southern this year is a horrible team. ASU lost due to conservative play calling. For the conferences sake I hope they are better next year until they play ASU....
Keep this in mind the Cotton Bowl has a payout of around 10.8 million this year. The numbers break down to 2.47 million for the participants. Then the rest is divided up per team in each conference.
Roughly 8 million. 4 million per conference extra in revenue from ESPN. So if ASU had went undefeated each school would have gotten an extra 1/2 million into their coffers. Including Southern...That loss cost the Sun Belt a lot of money. This is just an example, I am not sure how much the Sun Belt would have retained.

What’s the bowl head to head vs CUSA last few years. CUSA may now be the worst G5 conference.

I hate 'em when they win and now hate 'em when those lose.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

Re: SUNBELT VS CUSA post season
They may be the overall worst G5 conference but Florida Atlantic looked like a real good team in the Boca Bowl. I watched the game, they beat the socks off of SMU.
