Re: Louisville
Yes, we would have beaten the Ville. I have no question about that at all and I bet Scott and all the other App guys on the coaching staff would agree with us. Scott did a great job of changing the culture, but he changed it to our culture and our kids have been buying into that culture for many, many years. It is why we have the success we have had.

Re: Louisville
App can definitely beat Louisville. But at least on paper I don't think I would heavily favor either team over the other. If you have a decent P5 team like Louisville, they can sometimes beat elite G5 like App by eventually winning the talent/depth battle. The elite G5 have good talent but really it's all about being able to coach up what we have given we don't have the name brand or resources that P5 do to get kids. So they have some better top end kids than us and definitely more depth.

Re: Louisville
Watched some of the game. Heard announcers say that during Patrino the players were not allowed on 2nd floor where offices were, no contact with coaches and other things. Satt picked a good spot to go and treat those kids right. He won a bunch of folks over up there this year.

Re: Louisville
Too many close wins this year for me to say that we would destroy anyone. However, I honestly believe that we could compete with most Bowl teams and probably beat most 6/7 win teams. Watching the Belk Bowl and really wish we could have played Va Tech!!!

Re: Louisville
I think we would have been at a disadvantage from a coaching perspecective.....since Satt. built this program. I'm with APP93. I think it's 50\50.
I'm not delusional...the p5 wins were very close.

Re: Louisville
Yeah I think it's a video game.....
Like it or not Scott Satterfield and his coaching staff built our FBS program. He recruited the players we watched. Thank you Demetrius Taylor. I believe if Scott where here we would have still beaten UNC. Scott didn't miss the field goal against Wake and he didn't recover a freak fumble against Tennessee but he sure made us competitive. IMO...Drink added very little to this team...he didbt have to. Most people on this board could have coached these wins. Let's see what sucess he has with Missouri.....5 years...no more and he's gone.

Re: Louisville
Most of the metrics I look at suggest Louisville was weaker than both UNC and South Carolina. They had a very good season for the mess they were last year but I'd feel good about App's chances.

Re: Louisville
I too believe that Satt could have won both of those games. I never thought Drink was an upgrade over Scott. No doubt he was the recipient of a team capable of accomplishing what they did. But to suggest anyone could have produced a 13-1 record is silly. I have no idea how he will do at Mssouri and that's irrelevant to what he did here.AppStForMe wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2019 6:42 pmYeah I think it's a video game.....

Re: Louisville
You're right. It would be silly to think I could go 13-1 with this already established accomplished team.
I wouldn't have lost to Georgia Southern because I wouldve started passing the ball to Corey Sutton who was wide open the whole game.
14-0. Hello cotton bowl.

Re: Louisville
That's tough. We definitely have/had the talent to beat them but Louisville also has a whole coaching staff that knows our personnel better than just about anyone. They could come up with the perfect game plan to give us a tough game.
The mountains are calling and I must go

Re: Louisville
Yeah but Satt was not as strong of an in game coach. Everyone fantasizes the past, and people are bitter about Drink. But Drink was better than Satt.AppStForMe wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2019 3:32 pmWhy...this is the team HE built.
