FCS National Championship Game

Unread post by ah59396 » Sat Jan 11, 2020 12:10 pm

Great matchup for the FCS. Basically the two flagship programs.

I’m a little envious that it’s on ABC now. Wish the tv coverage and Gameday visits existed when we were FCS.

But it’s nice to know App played a pivotal role in elevating the subdivision, pretty cool for the FCS. Go Bison.

Good opening drive for JMU. I don't like either team, but go JMU

These are 2 good teams just like APP was back in the FCS days - not JV ball as some have claimed.

Go Bison. I have no use at all for JMU. One of those schools who have a VERY inflated opinion of themselves.

JMU looks outmatched again. NDSU really owns them.

Mods, thanks for moving this to the right spot. My bad.

Other than the extremely good times I had partying at JMU when I was in college, I can't stand anything else about that school. I actually hate them with a passion. Fun fact that I've mentioned on here before. At the Wood Grill buffet in Harrisonburg on the wall headed to the bathroom they have a framed picture from the game we gave up the halftime lead at JMU

Didn’t watch until the end, but it was an exciting finish. Bad game/clock management by JMU hurt their chances.

I truly enjoy watching them lose. Their fanbase really irks me with a false sense of superiority and I have no clue where it comes from.

That and the fact they turned down the Sun Belt invite. They can spend the rest of their existence stuck in FCS purgatory as a second fiddle.

Bison fans are arrogant but damn they’ve earned it.

The Bison should get some votes for the end of the year Top 25. 16-0 is mighty impressive.

I'm sure some will disagree but these 2 teams would be around .500 in the SB and would probably win the MAC :o

NDSU would win the MAC and probably finish 3rd or 4th in the Belt.

JMU would probably be 3rd or 4th in the MAC and probably comparable to Troy in the Belt.

Not meaning to be elitist here but I didn’t realize how irrelevant FCS football was until I quit looking for scores in 2015.

14 of the 32 FCS national championships before NDSUs run started now play in the FBS. The FCS ain’t what it used to be.

My wife and I was there in the end with the JMU band. I remember one of the tuba players yelling, "This is our year" over and over very loudly and with a lot of passion. This was before the game as their band was filling in the seats. I was sitting comfortably going into the half and then...ugh.

The highlight of the weekend was the hotel with the wife, so it could have been worse. Until my dad passed away the summer before the season started the plan was that he and I go to the game.

NDSU is a good team but no FCS team should ever receive votes in the AP Top 25 unless they have a win over a ranked FBS team and are undefeated. They are the best dynasty in FCS history though. I never thought anyone would beat 3 in a row or 4 out of 5 but they have done it. They are impressive and I don't see the train stopping anytime soon with the young talent they have.

They actually have a LB #42 who my friends in the NFL say may come out early. He would go on day 3 but there has been talk he will consider it.
