Since the final poll was released, I thought it was fitting we hear the Marching Mountaineers play the Tennessee Waltz one last time this season. This season was UNBELIEVABLE. 13 freaking wins. Finishing the season within the top 20 of the AP poll, 4 straight Sun Belt titles, 5-0 in bowl games. Soak in it. Cherish it. It's great to be a Mountaineer.

Re: Tennessee Waltz
My dad , a Tennessean back from the war in the Pacific {two Bronze Stars} , goes to a dance and meets up with an old friend and his date. Dad asks if it's ok to dance with her and he literally "stole her away"….she would become my mother. They are both gone now but it was their story and their song .Patti Page.I have often thought it ironic that this particular song would mean so much to a family in this way as well as being a part of Appalachian tradition. Whenever I hear it …..memories flow.
