It was time. On Saturday it wasn’t, but after not showing up for the final three quarters on Sunday, it was time.GregPercussion wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2019 3:49 pmRon is out as HC

Re: 2019 Panthers thread
FWIW, It may have been time as you say, but he still remains the winning-est coach in Panther history, twice NFL Coach of the Year (not sure), as well as only the second Panther Coach to lead them to a Super Bowl in franchise history. Rivera has absolutely nothing to hang his head about.AppinVA wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2019 5:20 pmIt was time. I hope this move blows up in Tepper's face.

Rivera will be quickly hired by another NFL team. He's at the top of the list. Can't fire 45 players so you have to fire one coach.

I know it’s 2020 but wow- Luke retires at 28. I would not have blamed him years ago when he was laid out on the field. Top 10 Panther all time.

Hey Panthers, a local young man named Akeem Davis-Gather is available to play LB!

Re: 2019 Panthers thread
The Shaq Thompson signing leads me to believe they knew it was coming. Luke has battled brain rattling injuries for years, I’m sure he has had a neurologist suggest he hang up his cleats for the last few years. My guess is he takes a year off and is coaching LBs somewhere in a year.....hopefully here in Carolina.
God Speed Luke, you were a hell of a football player. I would argue he was one of the best to ever play the position.

Re: 2019 Panthers thread
I have been a bit surprised that they haven't brought in a true stud at QB and didn't seem to go for one in the draft. I'm thinking they have their eye on Lawrence, which would be an amazing move if they can pull it off.

Re: 2019 Panthers thread
I don't think Lawrence will be in play for the Panthers, but we'll see. I bet they get stuck having to take the 3rd QB off the board, behind Lawrence and Fields.
