Re: Turf Replacement Pics
I have to agree with you Yosef10. I have never cared for the signage from day one. It looks tacky and reminds me of a used car lot signage. Maybe one day we can afford to brick over the cement like, dare I say it, Georgia Southern did to theirs a few years ago. Just an opinion of an old man here.

Re: Turf Replacement Pics
The signage is better than it looking like an outfield fence at a minor league ballpark.
See what it looks like up against green turf, rather than the burnt-fuchsia track.

Re: Turf Replacement Pics
Heck, while they were digging around they should have taken out about 6 ft of dirt and lowered field, then extended lower seating a few more rows toward field.

If you look close enough you can see they’ve installed the permanent support beams behind the temp ones. Much betterAppstate88 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 12:29 pmLooks like trenching and conduit going in around the 50 yd line.

Re: Turf Replacement Pics
Once the turf is installed, I hope the players adjust well to the new surface. I hope the new field will help show off our overall team speed, while limiting lower body injuries. I also think that since the new turf extends over the removed track, players will no longer have to worry about slipping and fallIng when they would run out of bounds at full speed.
What our your thoughts...
Is there evidence to support more or less lower body injuries when you replace football field with new turf?
What about overall team speed as well?

Re: Turf Replacement Pics
Speed is speed. If a surface helps one individual it will also help the opposition. So it will not give us anymore of an advantage than we had to start with.
I would assume the old surface to be more slippery giving to more pulled muscles but helping the foot to not stick when lower Body is hit. The new surface providing more traction for movement but the foot sticking When lower Body is hit leading to more injury.

Re: Turf Replacement Pics
UNC just installed turf after having grass forever. The main thing they talked about is having the ground as consistent as possible, in as much of the field as possible. Which is also why we're replacing ours. Gets rid of any worn spots after 9 years. Which allows for maximum safety for players and speed.Appstate88 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 9:04 amOnce the turf is installed, I hope the players adjust well to the new surface.
