But supposedly, the East Coast was hit by way of Europe from China.

Only if it works and you're not in the control group. Where do I sign up?
I thought about signing up, but based on what I read, I likely wouldn’t be chosen as I’m not high enough risk. I don’t have an underlying illness (that I know of), I have worked from home for 2 years so I’m not in contact with many people, I wear a mask and liberally use sanitizer when I do go out, and I’m not in contact with many at risk people. Oh well.
I fall along the same lines as you. We’ll see. The concerning part is that the trial goes for 12 months. Does that mean no vaccine for a year, assuming it works?BeauFoster wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2020 2:18 pmI thought about signing up, but based on what I read, I likely wouldn’t be chosen as I’m not high enough risk. There should be plenty of trial opportunities yet to come. According to my GP, there are more than 40 Big Pharmas and little pharmas world-wide burning midnight oil and Big dollars looking to develop a preventive vaccine for the masses and/or a therapeutic treatment for Covid-19 victims (patients). He mentioned NC's RTP, Cal's Stanford/Menlo Park/Palo Alto area, Johns-Hopkins/Baltimore, Ireland and Australia as hot spots of really hopeful research. Oh yeah...and China.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2020 2:40 pmI fall along the same lines as you. We’ll see. The concerning part is that the trial goes for 12 months. Make them come to Boone.hotrod2001 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2020 3:22 pmThis whole thing is really going to suck for Notre Dame...suddenly their Independent standing might come to bite them.
(If they need a game, *wink wink, nudge nudge*)
The ACC remains committed to their 6 N.D. games and may be able to schedule more ACC vs. N.D. games this season if need be.hotrod2001 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2020 3:22 pmThis whole thing is really going to suck for Notre Dame...suddenly their Independent standing might come to bite them.

I have that same thought so I'm not saying it's wrong, but on the other hand, Arkansas State scheduled their Michigan game after their law suit against Miami.
Correct, but that was in 2018. This is 2020 during a pandemic. It would not be taken kindly right now if we were to do that.
A lot of athletic programs are going to be struggling to survive. I say that we do what we have to do.appdaze wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2020 8:31 amCorrect, but that was in 2018. This is 2020 during a pandemic. It would not be taken kindly right now if we were to do that.
A lot will be struggling that is 100% correct. If all the G5 and FCS school sue the P5 schools over the next couple months that would only further the divide between the groups. I could see future schools paying their way out of their contractual games to avoid potential lawsuits. If it comes to that then they just won't bother scheduling schools like us anymore. It won't be worth the risk. Our program isn't going anywhere. We have enough money to make it through this. In regards to this topic you can not sue and keep good relationships with other schools or you can risk your future scheduling abilities and sue for a one time payment. Every university is about to get budget cuts. Piling on to that is going to make us look terrible. Sometimes you need to keep the good relationships for future success over punching someone in the kidney to take a few bucks (and yes in the grand scheme of future years that 2 mil is a few bucks).appst89 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2020 8:42 amA lot of athletic programs are going to be struggling to survive.
