I was hoping for a game with ECU. Charlotte really doesn't move the needle for me at the moment and we have everything to lose if they beat us. Then again any place, any time, anywhere as they say.
I hope we sign up Marshall for a game. I would be glad to play them twice this year....Home and away. I would think they would be isolated enough to have a chance to keep the virus out. We will see. Liberty would be pretty isolated as well. They would probably pay our entire travel expense for a game.
P.S. Any football game we sign with Charlotte, ODU or Marshall should require a home and home basketball game. (Same with UMASS)

Since we schedule home and home with App in round ball on a regular basis I don’t think that would be an issue. I think we have y’all in Charlotte this year after last years in Boone. We have been playing y’all for years don’t expect that to stop regardless of football.

SARS-CoV-2 is everywhere in the US. I am not sure how up to date the data is but the county of Cabell has had over 300 cases. with a few deaths. I did no dig that deep into per capita rates and such. Lynchburg as a independent city in VA has had over 400 and a few deaths as well.

I could see this game being played in Boone based on fewer cases there, but Boone has had some crazy restrictions on visitors.
I would think the fact that KBS is twice the size of JRS and allows for more socially distanced patrons holds more sway than Watauga/Mecklenburg covid rates.
I can’t imagine UNCC hosting any newly scheduled game for this reason. Isn’t it the smallest stadium in the entire FBS? I know there’s usually plenty of room between people in your stadium, but you’re going to need some space if you play App or ECU since each program has fans.
Idaho-Kibbie Dome according to one source.

Idaho has been FCS again since 2018 when the Sun Belt decided to not renew any sort of agreement for football.

By all means...let's get the details worked out! Someone has already mentioned that this would be our 2020 Homecoming game! Give 'em Hell, Apps!

What do y’all think about playing at BoA?
Question 1. what would be the cost to rent and pay all expenses for use of Bank of America Stadium for a game between APP and Charlotte?
2. who’s going to pay those expenses?
3. would there be enough fans (Because I had assumed neither school would share in the ancillary revenues like concessions and merchandise) to cover the expenses in a time of extreme budget Disaster for both schools?

I don't think it happens in BOA for these reasons. It really makes no sense without having full capacity

Unless the City of Charlotte / BofA Stadium Corp decided to make a "gift" of the stadium for the game, I don't see a game happening there when we can't sell maximum tickets. They do make special deals, but with reduced attendance, I would be surprised if any game is played other than at one of the team's field.

I agree 2 games between us in one season doesn’t make sense.
As for BoA rental the city of Charlotte gets a handful of free dates in exchange for renovations the city paid for. The ICC game is one of them and didn’t happen this year. Mike Hill being a far more connected person in the city than our previous AD was I would say it’s at least possible he has landed one of those free dates. Free date we split the gate - it’s a win win given current conditions. Downtown Charlotte desperately needs events right now and this would be a good one.
I’d keep an eye on the 9/12 weekend.

Just for info Mike Hill has a vacation home in blowing rock so I’m sure he is on really good terms with folks up there.
Also had some woodlands today always good stuff!

I have said before on this forum and I'll say it again now, we should schedule UNCC year in and year out. As their program grows this can develop into a great in-state rivalry between the two schools. We have tons of alumi in Charlotte, so the games both in Boone or in Charlotte will almost always be a sellout. Due to our current conference affiliation we don't have many games that move the needle, so a guaranteed non-conference sell out every other year is what both programs need. They don't like us and we don't like them and that's what college football is all about.
