This is awesome for both programs and a fantastic way for the rekindled rivalry to kickoff!

Is 2020 turning a corner?

Hope so. With the B1G, Pac12, MAC, and MW not playing, if anything this is a prime opportunity to elevate the Sun Belt in both exposure to a larger audience and potential recruits. If the league can stay healthy and not fall into lockdowns and keep up what we saw this week it can only be good for us.

Ahywhooo, we are undefeated when playing on CBS. We played at The Citadel on Sept 24, 1983. So we are undefeated in away games during the month of September when the game aired on the CBS network. 1-0 under those conditions. Let's make it 2-0.

App vs Citadel in '83 on CBS. Some would say that was one of the most significant games in the financial history of college football, when U of Georgia sued the NCAA (who controlled the TV contract on those days) after the App v Citadel game bumped UGA v the Gamecocks in some southeast TV markets and all four teams were paid the same money for appearing despite one being a nationwide game and the other being a regional game - leading to the NCAA losing control of TV contracts, the end of independents programs, and the rise of the power conferences with their big TV deals. At least so I've heard anyway.

Do we get the announcers that normally do the SEC prime game? Doesn't really matter. Network and Time slot is more important than announcers. Just curious

Wonder if we have to train the announcers to pronounce Appalachian correctly?

And that we are not the "apps" (penn state announcer)...or Beers (personally just hate that reference)

I was in attendance at the '83 El Cid game which we won by a decent margin as I recall. I remember it mainly for the TV hype .It was a big deal.My tickets were provided by my date's father who was a Dawg donor [the Brigadier Club] of some substance. I was on my best behavior , I assure you.

I knew it was around that time that the Prig5 schools really started down the path of being the Prig 5 schools. I did not realize it was an App State game that did it though I knew some NCAA schools were unhappy with how things were going with TV exposure.

$4 per toll booth. Not sure how far north on 77 you go but there are 3 toll booths between here and Charleston

Took US 23 up from Kingsport through Virginia into pikesville and on into WV . What a beautiful ride words can’t describe. Four lanes all the way. There were a few stop lights in pikesville but other than that smooth sailing and zero traffic.

Highly recommend. I little more curves than interstate but an hour quicker from WNC.
