Yeah, I know. That's what happens when your one of the many on a BCS team. Four years in the SEC might count for a little something though.

Considering how some of our transfers of late have done, I'm not going to hold my breath on this one.

This is awesome. I love the attention and this opens a bunch of recruiting doors for us.

Just watched some video on the Ole Miss transfer and he seems really solid. The difference between this guy and other transfers is a lot of the time the transfers just didn't get to play but they were highly touted out of high school. This guy has actually played. He even started 3 games in 2011 I believe it was. My only question is why does he have eligibility left if he graduated? Did he graduate in 3? Redshirted his freshman year and graduated in for? Another reason?

He was class of 2009 I believe so he probably redshirted and graduated in 4 years and looking for somewhere to play his remaining year and might have a chance to start

I have heard that our coaches are all but sold on Middleton playing safety this year. Woody has been known to have the mentality of keeping everything in front. Could we see a two-safety system this season. A free safety and strong safety.

they should be sold on him there. looks like a natural position for him. The other safety position seems to be the one that is up for grabs and depending on how good this transfer is, that just adds another person into the discussion along with the 2 safeties we have coming in with this class (at least 1 will probably be RS with the transfer addition)

I think we've always had a 2 safety system as you say. John Wiley's defense seem to put more of a premium on keeping things in front of you than Dale Jones' scheme. We didn't seem to get beat deep as much during the championship days as we have the past few years

I have a scholorship question. I know that we need to move to 68 scholorships this year as part of our transition, thus the reason we can't be in the playoffs. My question is, can we have more than 68 scholorships this year (provided we have the funding for them)?

Yes. There is a minimum scholarship average throughout transition, but 85 is the limit.

We have added a PWO running back. RB Justin Ruffin (5′ 8″ 175) of Salisbury High School in Salisbury, NC accepted a PWO invitation. I have added him to the 2013 Recruiting page. I have been watching his twitter for months and he made his decision a few days ago but I wanted to confirm before I added him. Below is a story from the Salisbury paper and a youtube highlight video that is also on his page.

Picked up this tweet a little while ago. Sounds like Pinckney is grinding hard this offseason getting ready for camp. Keep it up Brandon :D

App State Signee Brandon Pinckney took his 40 yard dash from 4.5 to 4.47 while gaining 12 pounds these last 8 weeks #RESULTS #GOODtoGREAT

Sweet! Hopefully the rest are working just as hard. I know they get an offseason workout to do.

Is it August yet?

I forgot to add last night a JUCO LB from PA via VA. OLB Dayron Wilson (6′ 0″ 205) of Lackawanna Junior College in Scranton, PA is stating on twitter he is visiting App next week and that an offer has been extended. I have added him to the "Considering App" section of the 2013 Main page and I also built a page for him. Listed below are a few highlights from last year for him. I'll be watching his twitter account to see how the visit goes.

Whoops: This is for the 2014 page. Sorry for the mixup. After spending hours reading through tweets by some scary people my mind didn't see 2013 but 2014. My mistake.

Read somewhere that we needed 73 to 74 scholarship players for 2013 in case we lose some, just to make sure that we have the FBS transitional average. Is that right?

Guess, what, would take 90% of the 85 for each year so we would need to average 77 for the two years?

Bet Coach Woody is enjoying this.

Saw today that an Ok State QB is going to be transferring. Might be worth looking into. Would give us an extra experiences QB sine I believe he has started some games last year. Knows the Pistol offense too

Can't hurt to kick the tires on him
