Wasn't there some conversation by the ESPN guys talking about how App fans are like Alabama fans in that we don't just expect to win every game but we expect to win every game by 30 points or more and aren't happy unless we do?
That was what Shawn Clark said to Marty Smith. Pretty apt description.

Sure was. They also made a big deal about how to pronounce Appalachian State. I loved it.

Marty’s a Radford guy but I thought he was dynamite for us last night.

Wish we had him on broadcasts more often.

Clark falling back on Jerry Moore play calling..... Foot...off....gas...
Oh please with the pearl clutching. Apples and oranges.
Foot off gas is foot off gas.... It's an App State game, we tried to take the foot off the gas....and luckily didn't get burned. Nothing apples and oranges about that. You're the one clutching pearls over my post.
you aren’t gonna get much support with this take. App was off for damn near a month and scored 45 points while giving up 17 to a very explosive offense. You seem delusional.
The great thing about it.....I don't need any support. Peace.
you must have a different axe to grind. Why are you coming on here and are literally the only poster throwing shade on our team and coaches. This comes after a 30 point conference win on national television.

Really impressed with the defensive tackling after the lack of practice. Our secondary gave up catches but virtually nothing after the catch.
We really did a good job on tackling last night! There didn't seem to be as many total whiffs as had been earlier in the season. We really seemed to go back to fundamentals in all defensive phases.
Give 'em hell!

After reviewing the game the next day, I was very impressed with the offense and how they mixed things up. Need to hold onto the ball better but that Can be fixed. It was nice to see the d line get pressure and mixing up the blitz.

Go to page 4 of this post... Start with Yosef69.... Quite a few folks agreed with me and posted about us suddenly being on conservative mode. We obviously changed going conservative and got back at it. It is what it is man.... My opinions are my opinions, your opinions are yours. So..... With that... I won't reply anymore. ☮️

I might have missed this earlier - does anyone know why Marcus only had the one 58 yard run?

When you have three quality RBs and you fumble you are likely to sit afterwards.

I think Harrington had 100 yards before half time. Our O-line pushed them around quite a bit.

Right now we have the talent to expect in most games. It won't happen every week but I only see 2 games that should be anywhere close. You still have to play the game but if we execute we can win out. This was just one game but I think the break did us some good. Our offense should be even better when Hennigan and Virgil can help more and we get Pearson back. We just have to take it one game at a time though.

A lot of things can change both good and bad. One injury could derail any hope we have on offense. Going 1-0 is all that matters so no reason to look ahead to CCU or Louisiana yet.

Maybe Sutton will decide to join in the fun!! Well one can hope. Even without him we have some serious depth catching and running the ball.

Here is what I was not impressed with. The camera work for an ESPN mothership production I thought it was a bit lacking. A few bad cuts on angle changes but more so just shaky camera and bad choice of angle. Maybe it was just me and I am rarely critical of things like this but for some reason I ended the game thinking these thoughts.

That’s an issue with either the camera operator not having the shot he/she should have at the right time or the technical director/director cut to that camera too early or late. I blame it more on director or TD since they can see every shot from every camera at all times in the truck. The director and TD are accustomed to creating a rhythm and flow and cameras are supposed to have a usable shot at all times. There’s a loose formula for when to cut to certain cameras and it’s all about timing. That most likely was not the most experienced crew for a Thursday sun belt game vs a Saturday acc/sec type game. I, however, was surprised to see that happen on the flagship.
