Coastal and Ga State

Coastal so that they stay ranked because it’s good for the Belt and I want to beat them while ranked and because they play Ga Southern

Ga State because they are 1-2 with their only win against ECU. Troy got blown out by BYU so more Troy wins in conference weakens the conference overall SOS.

Coastal is doing what we've never been able to in FBS.

And Liberty might be ranked as well.

Obviously, he came back in to finish the game. However, Kennedy was nicked up on the interception return and they lost their LB Ellis in the second half. Ellis was having a monster game and Coastal's offense finally got into gear after he left the field.

Anyone watched? Coastal backup that good or GS just down this year?

Fred Peyton has played against us. He can be a good QB but he is definitely turnover prone.

It was a 14-14 game in the third quarter and both offenses were struggling to move the ball. Coastal had two yards rushing in the first half and CJ Marable was struggling to establish anything on the ground. Then, Coastal's 2nd running back Shermari Jones busted a few big runs after GaSo's middle linebacker (Ellis) went out of the game. Coastal got into the red zone and they split Marable out and hit him uncovered on a seam pass for a 20 yard TD.

GaSo made a miscue on the ensuing kickoff and had a different player catch the ball then who had called for a fair catch. That set them up at the 12 yard line. They went 3 and out and their punt was returned all the way back to their 20 yard line. Coastal hit a 20 yard run on the next play. The Coastal RB completely spun GaSo's LB around and ran off tackle untouched.

Coastal pressured Wertz on obvious passing downs all day.

To answer your question, I thought Coastal's offense looked average with Peyton at the helm, other than the 72 yard bomb he connected on in the 1st Q. He did make a couple of nice 1st down scrambles in the second half, but the passing game was just OK.

I doubt Coastal would be ranked if Peyton were the regular starting QB.

Ga St doesn’t appear to have much pass defense, their corners are not especially strong. We should have a field day with them, mush like we were able to have with Ark St.
Give 'em hell!

I’ve seen Gaso three times this year. Werts was not as effective through the air in this game as he was in the previous games. I hope it was Coastal’s defense. However, if Gaso mixes a passing game in with that running attack... we are in trouble. Looked to me like Gaso quit in the forth quarter.

Not a chance. The 6 teams they’ve beaten have won a grand total of 2 games! They don’t even deserve votes at this point.
