It was a great game.
I wonder if Falwell Jr. watched?
I’ve heard he likes to watch. 😉

Best team in Virginia. They play at Coastal last game of season. Hopefully Chants have a loss before then.

That’s one of the many myths at App. I also heard some stupid story that we played VT. Kids these days.

I am one who believed Liberty was over rated and their ranking was purely a function of schedule. I didn't think they'd win against Va Tech, but that shows what I know! Great win for the Flames.

I dislike Liberty as much as anyone, but their football (and basketball) are for real. I didn't expect them to beat VT, but their soft schedule before now shouldn't obscure the fact that they have been on a fast upward trajectory.

It is a good win for Liberty but Virginia Tech isn't that good of a team this year. They got some early hype by starting 2-0 but those were wins against NC State and Duke and it was followed by a loss to an over ranked and not that good of a UNC team. They also beat BC and Louisville but lost to Wake, so it isn't like they have beaten good teams. They won against the bottom half of the ACC. They already are a 3 loss team and have at least 2 more losses on the schedule, maybe 3. So, once again, good win by Liberty over an overhyped, underperforming team.

No fluke. They matched up physically on par , if not superior.

Tough pill to swollow but everyone needs to get used to it. They are going to continue to get stronger and they will become a power to reckon with.

As long as Hugh Freeze is there, Liberty will have a very successful football team and win lots of games. People can say whatever they want about him but he knows how to coach. The guy beat Saban's Alabama team TWICE while at Ole Miss, just think about that for a bit. The list of coaches who have beat Saban twice is very, very small and only guys that can really coach accomplish that feat. As long as he is coaching at Liberty, they will win.

Agreed, VT is a typical middle-of-the-pack ACC team. But they're probably on par with the UNC team we beat last year, and better than South Carolina was.

Took the words right out of my mouth. We would be crowing about a victory at VT and they should too.

Big win for their program. They've beaten two ACC teams this yr, regardless of whether VT and the 'Cuse are having good years or not.

And for those who can remember, we sort of have Liberty to thank for pointing App back in the right direction. Right after they beat us at Homecoming in 2014 the team did a gut check, got serious, started buying into what Satt and his staff were doing and App has been rolling strong in FBS ever since them.

And if/when Freeze moves on, they will have no trouble finding a capable replacement. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I also understand that their facilities are first-class, comparable to that of many P5 schools. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
