Re: NEZ work today
Brick is all laid. Street lights going up in the parking lot.
Also just found this tidbit on the site:
“The building will open in phases. The first phase, originally scheduled to open by the fall 2020 football season, will have a conditional opening of its fourth-floor Grandview Ballroom, the balcony seats and the first-floor lobby for a Nov. 13 ribbon-cutting ceremony and the Nov. 14 football game against Georgia State. The first and second floors are expected to be finished by the end of December. The first floor features a locker room, a weight room, a team bookstore, a hydrotherapy treatment area, a team lounge and Hall of Fame collection. The second floor will house athletics offices, the catering kitchen and a classroom”
Getting closer and closer to getting a finished product on the outside.

When are they going to brick the 2 large stairways/elevator sections of the end zone?

Based on the renderings I have seen, yes.Appmountaineers19 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 12:32 pmReally?GastonApp09 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 12:27 pmThey aren't. It's pretty similar to the east side tower, at least in renderings. I'm sure it's meant to tie those two together.Appmountaineers19 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 12:32 pmReally? I'm an idiot - meant west side. That's what I get for reading this board and participating in conference calls at the same time.GregPercussion wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 2:40 pmWhat are you referring to as the east side tower?BeauFoster wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 2:18 pmIt's pretty similar to the east side tower, at least in renderings. Re: NEZ work today
Very little, if any, exterior work will get done from this afternoon through mid-day Thursday. The remnants of Hurricane/TS Eta are expected to drop 6+ inches of precip on The High Country (if the current forecast is accurate). Looks as if that new AstroTurf drainage system will get a week-of-game test.JPatH3292 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 10:30 amBrick is all laid. Street lights going up in the parking lot.

Re: NEZ work today
Looks like the heavy rain has moved out and work is continuing on. Plastic has been removed from the seats, tables have been installed in the suites and concrete is being laid under the stands for the field level patio.
I wonder if they plan to put more astro turf down between the field and patio for player safety?
It’s been a long year and half but we are almost there!

Re: NEZ work today
I just observed more workers on the job site than I have in a couple of months. The NEZ Project must be in countdown-to-Saturday mode. That's a good thing. (I'm not implying that no work has been done recently. I'm certain that interior work has been dominating the punch list of late.)

Re: NEZ work today
What are they doing with the columns on either side of the stands? I know it would be expensive but it would look so good if they tied in the stone work that they put on the one side of the outside column. I hope they don't leave it with the white panels. It looks unfinished.

Based on this rendering picture, it's going to be that. I'm sure it's a long-term structure move, likely they don't want to spend money on something that they probably plan to build out in the long-term plan. I agree though, looks kind of odd.

Re: NEZ work today
Just put a big back-lit Yosef Head on them and call it a day.
You add banners hanging under the Yosef Heads with all our conference championships, national championships and or retired player numbers on each white stairwell column.
Another option is put game clocks on them.
