Re: NEZ Overhang
I think they read this message board and decided against it because of the view it potentially blocks of Howard's Knob.

Re: NEZ Overhang
It will partially cover some of the NEZ seats. They are trying to figure out how to avoid blocking field view from the NEZ room. A retractable awning of some description. Although I surmise Boone wind will rule that out

Re: NEZ Overhang
I heard from reliable sources it was deemed unnecessary because of the Dome project for 2025.

I heard similar things. Makes sense with us set to host the CFB Championship in 2028.

Re: NEZ Overhang
That was cancelled in late 70’s when they realized you couldn’t see Howard’s Knob.

Re: NEZ Overhang
Shouldn’t be a problem. Since they can’t dig down to lower the field, they are going to bring Howard’s Knob closer to the stadium.

Re: NEZ Overhang
I am not sure moving Howard's Knob will be approved by ESPN. That is where they have their cameras placed for televised games.

Re: NEZ Overhang
Are you guys talking about the awning over the NEZ seating sections or the lack of columns at the ground level?
When we bought NEZ seats it was advertised that they would install a cover after the first season it was complete. It was a big selling point for my fair-skinned wife.

Just hope those advertised plans don't change as many things have over the years.Gonzo wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 11:45 amAre you guys talking about the awning over the NEZ seating sections or the lack of columns at the ground level?

Easy enough to to find out. They are offering tours to current owners or prospective buyers throughout April. I’m sure you can ask then.Gonzo wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 11:45 amAre you guys talking about the awning over the NEZ seating sections or the lack of columns at the ground level?

Re: NEZ Overhang
I’ve heard the dome will be fully retractable so that Cline can still see his knob.
