Frustrated, embarrassed…need to do a better job, will regroup tomorrow, etc etc. it’s on YouTube after every game.WataugaMan wrote: ↑Sat Sep 24, 2022 9:34 pmI didn't hear Clark's post game interview today, anyone else? Comments?

You guys really think we would have had College GameDay if we had lost at A&M? - Hell No - some of you guys have been begging for more national notice for years - We beat a #5 team on the road and get GameDay and win on an unbelievable Hail Mary and we lose today and everything is going to Hell - Unbelievable - If you are not Alabama or Georgia or Ohio State you have little chance of going undefeated - many top teams will have multiple losses

The Hail Mary is a bad point bc realistically it should have been another loss.WVAPPeer wrote: ↑Sat Sep 24, 2022 9:51 pmYou guys really think we would have had College GameDay if we had lost at A&M? - Hell No - some of you guys have been begging for more national notice for years - We beat a #5 team on the road and get GameDay and win on an unbelievable Hail Mary and we lose today and everything is going to Hell - Unbelievable - If you are not Alabama or Georgia or Ohio State you have little chance of going undefeated - many top teams will have multiple losses

Re: JMU Game Day Thread
I kind of touched on this earlier.... Texas AM was great for our "brand", but we need to be having these "brand builders" complementing our conference dominance. Last week and Texas AM were great for our brand, and will be relevant longer than the loss to JMU, but righting the ship and beating JMU and being ranked in the teens this week would've been great for our team goals and our brand goals. As an underdog and a significantly less funded program , we need to make the most of our opportunities

I feel for him. I know it’s his job but he loves this school. I’m sure he wants to win these games more than anyone.app97 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 24, 2022 9:49 pmFrustrated, embarrassed…need to do a better job, will regroup tomorrow, etc etc. it’s on YouTube after every game.WataugaMan wrote: ↑Sat Sep 24, 2022 9:34 pmI didn't hear Clark's post game interview today, anyone else? We SHOULD win our next 4. 2 FCS teams, an 0-4 Ga State and bottom dweller Texas State.
If we aren’t 6-2 when we meet Coastal Carolina in November, we’ve got bigger problems. But assuming we are, there’s still a ton to play for.

Re: JMU Game Day Thread
The game ended on page eight of this thread. I'm glad we're now up to page 17 (and counting) with venting, gripes, spicy hot takes (even the hyperbolic ones), and commiseration.
I'd be more worried if the lights had been turned out on page eight with an "oh well, that's App football for ya".
No one is really calling for coaches to be fired.. players aren't getting called out by name or thrown under the bus.
It's okay for a bunch of passionate people to get together get it out of the system.
Like Saint said earlier.. tomorrow is a new day and it'll be time to get back to work.

No offense to coach but the defensive issues are either not fixable or "is what they is". We don't have the talent on that side of the ball right now.
We should be deeply disappointed with the offensive line play. I for one downplayed the run defense stats for JMU but we did nothing to change it.

6 top 25 teams lost today - 3 more are trailing - if you can't see that there isn't much difference between most of the top 50-60 teams you aren't paying attention --- No, there is no excuse for losing today but I'm sure T A&M said the same thing two weeks ago and everyone else who has lost to someone they think they should have beaten and we are only 4 weeks in --- take a deep breath

Haha, so it’s fine when you say it about your team but not when we say it about ours.
I love this team as much or more than you do so don’t tell me how to react when we lose in embarrassing and unacceptable fashion.

You meltdown like that against a peer program , at home, and a newby peer at that , you need to do some soul searching.

Re: JMU Game Day Thread
There is a lot more parity for sure. This is not the same Sun Belt that it was when we entered though. A first year transition team should not beat a team that is suppose to be the best in the East. This was a staff using the "play not to lose instead of play to win strategy" and we got outcoached badly by JMU. I thought JMU was good but should not have had enough FBS talent to beat us quite yet.WVAPPeer wrote: ↑Sat Sep 24, 2022 10:01 pm6 top 25 teams lost today - 3 more are trailing - if you can't see that there isn't much difference between most of the top 50-60 teams you aren't paying attention --- No, there is no excuse for losing today but I'm sure T A&M said the same thing two weeks ago and everyone else who has lost to someone they think they should have beaten and we are only 4 weeks in --- take a deep breath
We have some injuries but my question is does losing 3-4 good players take a team who was so good they could beat a top 10 team and drop them down to losing to a team who just transitioned from FCS to FBS? That seems like a huge drop off. The bottom line is we lost to a better team today. Maybe JMU would not beat us if we had a rematch next week but I would say A&M feels the same about us. We lost to them and better regroup. Luckily, we have an easier October. If we are not 6-2 heading to Coastal Carolina then we will be in major trouble. We have a month where we should be able to heal up some guys and make adjustments. As much as we should win the next 4 games our last 4 games could all be a win or a loss. I won't write these guys off yet because we have a lot of time but we do need to make some adjustments.

I actually kind of like WVU, but I wouldn't presume to go on our Mountaineer bros message boards and tell them what they should be posting or how they should be feeling.

Just when you think things couldn’t get any more interesting…ULM is about to win a football game.
ULL doesn’t look very good right now from my limited eyeball test. I’d bet on Troy or maybe even USA in the west at this point.

They, JMU , seemed more athletic and physical today. That really surprised me. On the plus side Louisiana lost and I just do not like them.
