Clemson game thread and discussion

Clemson at home is only favored by 7.5 over NC State.... who just lost by 40 to Tennessee.
I'm all confused now. Clemson wins by 45- State loses by 40. Not sure what that says about App. I would have guessed Clemson -14 over State

The line is intended to spark wagering. Clemson was not and is not 45 points better than App. They punched us in the mouth early and it got out of hand. We likely scrapped the game plan and worked on stuff.

Drawing comparisons to spreads is as useful to applying the transitive property to football outcomes.

Just like fols using the rythym method -m at some point they will be called "Parents"

Personal perspective…I’m 73…maybe 10 more years on this Earth. I’ve seen us get beaten by Bluefield St. I saw us beat Michigan USC and UNC. I’ve seen the program continue to grow from one where the media couldn’t pronounce Appalachian to a point we are known nationally. The NIL fiasco has tempered near term expectations. I used to foam at the mouth over a bad loss. Today I take this bad loss with a grain of salt. Disappointed for sure but it doesn’t upset me to the point I’m looking for heads to roll. I’m a long-haul Mountaineer. We will survive this loss and we will see what happens next. If it’s a bad year, those things happen but we always get past them.

Hey Old timer - I got news for you the media still cannot pronounce App-a-lay-chun State...

You still only have 3 full time media that covers the athletic department, Watooga Newspaper, Blowing Rock Newsletter and App State Online Mania web site and does 2 of the 3 even count??

Hopefully you will live long enough to see #TeamClark take the App's to CFP.

Today, there were four different media reps at Clark's presser, known of him were the ones you mentioned--App State Mania, High Country Sports, WLOS, and two folks from another outlet.

When Mack retires, Jamey Chadwell or Eli Drinkwitz will be our top 2 choices!!! Can't wait to watch Chadwell coach in a couple weeks at KBS. I have been sent to scout and analyze his abilities. Since I am the top Tar Heel.

Living alumni numbers aren't worlds apart either. I'm seeing that Clemson has around 180k and we have around 150k. There's a gap--understandable as our growth has been more recent--but not one that justifies that huge a disparity in fundraising.

I grew up in SC surrounded by Clemson fans, and IPTAY was ubiquitous--an expectation for alumni and parents, as well as WalMart fans. Clemson has the fortune of being one of two tribes in a state where everyone is required to pledge allegiance to either Clemson or USC at an early age--but there's still enormous room for our financial support to grow.

I would add that IPTAY was sold as a minimal indoctrination of $10. It was a different era, but it lent itself to let everyone know that they could join.

It didn’t hurt that SC was mediocre at best when Clemson started building. The Gamecocks had even recently lost to a plucky little school from the mountains of North Carolina.

Hones question. Who was coaching when we beat SC and UNC-CH?

Is this a trick question? Because it wasn’t Clark.

I was at the game and don’t regret going, wish the result was better but that’s life.

I won’t get into game analysis, I’m sure there’s plenty of that happening.

I did want to say that every Clemson fan we encountered was super nice and helpful. I’ve also never been to a game in which the crowd sang America The Beautiful, did The Pledge of Allegiance, and then sang the National Anthem. Pretty impressive in my opinion.

So maybe Clark won all those games and Drinkwitz was riding his coattails. It took a while for him to stop calling his own plays in order to start winning at Mizzou.

Some don't really care for those things just as much as you may care for them. No one is stopping you from doing any of that on your own or in a small or even large group. Personally I would prefer to have those 10 minutes for other activities in my life.
