Vol Football (Aguilar watch)
Word out of Knoxville that Joey is the starting QB this season.
Hope the best for him. Glad he got his degree at App State.

Yep, he was named today. Good for him. Hes getting the one shot most players dream of. SEC starting QB. Honestly I doubt ill watch any of their games. Once these guys portal away in free agency from us I just don't follow them.

I usually don’t do this with turnco…I mean portal players, but I’ll pull for him. He thought he was done. We did too, and we moved on.appdaze wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 8:09 pmYep, he was named today. I’m not going to watch any of the games or probably not, but he got his degree so he’s one of us. He could have left after 2023 if he wanted tooAppinVA wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 8:17 pmI usually don’t do this with turnco…I mean portal players, but I’ll pull for him. He thought he was done. Re: Vol Football (Aguilar watch)
I am pulling for Joey to light it up.
He is an App man and both parties thought he was done at time they parted ways. He still finished his degree and did what is best for his career.
I hope he kills it except when we meet in CFP.

Re: Vol Football (Aguilar watch)
Why wouldn't App folks root for Joey Dimes? He gave his all for Appalachian State and got a chance to move up to AAA ball. Do we stop rooting for App players when they go to the NFL? To me, it's pretty much the same thing.

Zero reason to say anything negative about him. I often think what would any of us have done as “regular students” if we were approached by an employer (I’m sure some were) and they offered us crazy money to leave Boone. How many would have turned it down?

From JUCO to 2nd string Sunbelt to 2 year Sunbelt starter to SEC starter. Unreal college trajectory.

Right? My time in Boone was some of the best times of my life, but I was so incredibly broke for so much of that time. It wouldn't have even taken that much money to get me to go somewhere else.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 18, 2025 7:25 amZero reason to say anything negative about him. I’m not generally a fan of Tennessee, but I’ll cheer for Joey. Anyone who labels him a turncoat needs to seriously look in the mirror.
Give 'em hell!

Joey is one of us, an App alum and that fact alone means that I will always pull for him. Dude did nothing but ball to the best of ability within our scheme and then graduated a Mountaineer. I wish him nothing but the best and will be rooting for him.

Re: Vol Football (Aguilar watch)
One article revealed he will make $1.2M this year. Not bad for first year after graduating from App.
