I think they pander to this "huge alumni base" in Charlotte who don't contribute or engage in App athletics. Hope it works out for them. I agree though, it's better in Boone.
not sure why in quotes. Mecklenburg county is our largest contingent of alumni, Its also where a fair amount of our unaffiliated fans live.
I like playing at BoA once every 5-7 years. IMO we should have told UNCC for a long term deal it needed to be 1-1-1 or more games in Boone since we average over double what they do and our opportunity cost is much greater than theirs to sign a straight H-H.
Of course Gillen seems inclined to help out UNCC for some reason.

If you live in Charlotte, I'm sure you love it there and don't get tired of the attention. If you don't, and I don't, you get tired of hearing about this vast untapped potential that is Charlotte.
I'm at the coast and have a home in Boone. The rest of the state, including Charlotte, is fly-over country. I would prefer our games in Boone because that's where my house is and it's pretty nice up there.

Pretty sure this a Charlotte home game so I’m not sure playing in Boone was an option.

It is technically a Charlotte home game. Then it's a home-and-home for the next four years.

That’s great and all and congrats on the coast/mountains arrangement.
But with all due respect, nobody cares what you personally are tired of. Charlotte and to a small lesser extent Raleigh are where the people and money are. If we want to continue growing our brand and university we will be very active in Charlotte.

Technically it’s a neutral game with us, uncc and CSF sharing the revenue

Well you seem like such a cool guy I'd support having at least one App game per year right next to your coastal estate.

We have still had 6 home games both years we’ve played in Charlotte. Playing in the Mayo bowl on an ESPN channel is brand exposure and more financially beneficial for the school than a typical away game. I’m not sure this is the hill to die on.

agree. this blew up. I'd just rather it be in Boone. Especially if it's again a UNCC type.

Hope you’re flying back and forth. Otherwise, you’re stuck having to drive thru the god-forsaken middle of the state where most of your fellow alumni call home.
