Reminds me of the good old days when bootleg shirts were printed and sold for five bucks with game specific artwork. I had one that was pretty disparaging to Marshall.ericsaid wrote: ↑Wed Oct 08, 2025 7:27 amWhen your social media doesn’t have the market penetration and friends don’t let other friends know, it’s an issue.
It really shouldn’t be that difficult.
So here is a plan, if I could get a trademark pass, I’ll go design and print 10,000 yellow (gold) App shirts and set up shot outside of the stadium. If I could get them at an all in price of $1.50 per shirt, I’d sell them for $5 a piece. Boom, stadium is all wearing the same shirts.
Now, my idea is exactly what the University should do, and why advanced planning of these color outs are so important.

Furman too, but not quite as bad.AppDub wrote: ↑Wed Oct 08, 2025 11:21 amReminds me of the good old days when bootleg shirts were printed and sold for five bucks with game specific artwork. Wearing just a t-shirt in mid-October in Boone? No thanks. Gotta have body hair like that guy who used to shave the block A into his back to pull that off

How about calling it a "Solid Gold" game or something instead of the same old Color Out name everyone borrowed from Penn State's "White Out"?

ASU Hairy guy. One of my best friends. He donned it at UNCC/App opener and got on the jumbotron. The back and the A keeps getting wider and wider.
But the hair keeps getting thicker. Had to shave it one time in college for him.
He kept his shirt on last week in Boone for Oregon State but was in attendance.

Did you shave the A or was this just a hygiene-related favor?311neers wrote: ↑Wed Oct 08, 2025 1:37 pmASU Hairy guy. One of my best friends. He donned it at UNCC/App opener and got on the jumbotron. The back and the A keeps getting wider and wider.

I talked to him at the UNCC game. He was a JV coach for my son's high school baseball team. Good dude311neers wrote: ↑Wed Oct 08, 2025 1:37 pmASU Hairy guy. One of my best friends. He donned it at UNCC/App opener and got on the jumbotron. The back and the A keeps getting wider and wider.

We won last week with it on and if we beat GagState this weekend while I'm wearing it, it'll be on again during the Gold Out.AppState89 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 08, 2025 2:08 pmDonna and I wore our #61 with gold numbers too last week.

I just hope the team doesn't wear all gold. Like how Penn State wears blue jersey's while the crowd is in white.

Wearing all black with fans in all gold could be a compromise to ensure but old and new fans can be happy

To be honest, I felt the same about the white/black/white combo when they were announced, but those grew on me as the week progressed into the game. I certainly like them better than using the yellow (not gold) as a primary color like we have.

I’ll be in attendance with all four members of our family which is a rare occasion these days and if we win, I promise I won’t care about the color of tshirts.

Re: Gold out vs coastal
November 2005 keeps getting further in the rear view window as being the last time I attended a game in Boone. I really hope this Toledo series doesn't get blown up as us coming to the Glass Bowl might be my best chance to see us home or away since the 2007 title game.

Re: Gold out vs coastal
If you two are referring to the "Furman Sucks" (in purple on the front) "Marshall Swallows" (in green on the back), my brother came up with those shirts and sold them. I forget what shirt he saw that inspired (copied the idea) the shirt but it wasn't completely an original idea. I loved that shirt, until I came home form work one day and my wife had cut it up to use as a rag because the content was "not appropriate" for our four children. I took umbrage, it is never too early to teach children not to like Furman or Marshall.AppinVA wrote: ↑Wed Oct 08, 2025 12:40 pmFurman too, but not quite as bad.AppDub wrote: ↑Wed Oct 08, 2025 11:21 amReminds me of the good old days when bootleg shirts were printed and sold for five bucks with game specific artwork.
