Hard for me to believe that all these guys on a 5 and 7 team are going to get money thrown at them to go play elsewhere. Wonder what our policy is on keeping guys on the team that don’t get “better” offers?

Screw all this. We still have a football game vs our all time arch rival on Dec. 29. As long as we have 11 on each side, play ball! Win or freaking lose. Let's play freaking football. My understanding is there’s only one from January
2-16. No longer a spring portal. There are exceptions such as when a coaching change takes place at a school outside the portal period.

Yes one per year now. I guess I'll have to adopt the same mantra I have with the NFL and MLB. Growing up a Redsox fan I loved Roger Clemens. He and Mitch Williams (Cubs/Phillies) were my fav players. When Clemens left and went to the Yankees I had to stop liking him. Just couldn't do it because I HATED the Yankees (still do). I look at these players the same. If they are on App State I cheer for them... If they aren't, I don't. (Except for Joey...I cheered for him).

The article also say AJ "started in 17 games in 2025." Crazy how our record is only 5-7, but he had 17 starts. Imagine how many interceptions he would have if that were true.

Not surprised. Swann originally committed to Maryland then decommitted and went to Vanderbilt instead, stayed there a couple of years then jumped to LSU for one season, then joined us. He can't seem to stay in one place very long. I figured either he or Kohl would enter the portal. I hope Kohl will stay.

I think the LSU jump was perceived opportunity to be on better team at the time and sure he got NIL as he was decent at Vandy. Given he did not play at LSU, he was looking to redeem himself at App. St. I always believed he would be a one year player at App as he hoped to do well for one year and make jump back to a Power school. With that said, IMHO I do not believe he improved he status in portal while at App. However, that will be up to other schools to decide what his value is. In addition, if JJ stays, he was going to have competition with a QB that is getting better at the college level as this was first year JJ really played at college level.

I wonder over the last 5 years how many QB success stories have there been- P4 bench QB dropping to G5, starts and has good to great stats? For us I don’t include Chase as he started at Duke.
