Yup, and on the cheap. OC is a great title and resume builder, if we have a good year, everyone wins and he will go find a much bigger paycheck

I don’t know but if I had to take a stab at it, I would lean towards no. It’s not any different than how most play callers turned HCs operate.T-Dog wrote: ↑Fri Feb 06, 2026 4:48 pmThis sounds like Anthony won't be calling plays.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 06, 2026 3:57 pmBeggars simply cant be choosers. I don't know how much it changes play calling, but it does alleviate some of the stressful workload.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
The ones complaining will be the ones who bring up the fact we will get players and coaches poached if we have 10 wins but that is exactly the problem we should want. I am pretty sure some folks just like to bitch and complain. We have some fans that will get mad no matter the outcome if it is not done with the coach they want.

There is a faction, Yosef94 as an example, that called DLo a terrible OC and is now complaining about the hired OC. You just have to put the bad apples like that in a closet and shut the door.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
I never understood why people have to make it so known that they like or don't like a hire other than a chance to say they told everyone so. Nobody truly knows how a coach will do and I am not going to be a downer on a hire without giving them a fair shot. I don't actually know any of these new hires so I can't truly predict how they will do without knowing. I remember everyone trashing on the Dabo hire for Clemson and it worked out. The media said Bill would come in to UNC and turn them around immediately but that did not happen. We truly don't know so I believe we need to be fair and wait to see performance before we judge them.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 06, 2026 7:19 pmThere is a faction, Yosef94 as an example, that called DLo a terrible OC and is now complaining about the hired OC. A friend sent me his post from another board. I think he’s upset we aren’t just hiring the same assistants from the FCS days. I’m sure it won’t take long for his distaste to show up here.hapapp wrote: ↑Fri Feb 06, 2026 8:48 pmDid he delete his post? Re: Roster/Staff Updates
This is so on brand for you when it comes to DLO. Do you give yourself whiplash attacking and combating any post that isn’t just falling lock step behind DLO? What makes him a bad apple? He doesn’t like the hire. Who cares? Why don’t you actually tell us why this dude is a good hire instead of your usual, everyone is dumb and negative if they can’t see the genius of Loggains the way I do. Maybe this dude will be a rockstar maybe he won’t. No one knows and that includes you. The smug dismissing is so played out.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 06, 2026 7:19 pmThere is a faction, Yosef94 as an example, that called DLo a terrible OC and is now complaining about the hired OC. Re: Roster/Staff Updates
If he hired an offensive coordinator who won’t be calling plays, then what’s he there for? It sure looks like DLO hired a figurehead but will still try and do it all himself. If that’s the case fans may have a right to be aggravated by this. I guess we’ll have to wait and see

Related to your first post - You are a toxic degenerate on this board. You love to twist people’s word, mainly mine, to fit whatever agenda you are pushing for. I try to explain things but you prove time and again that you simply don’t have the mental capacity to understand it. I truly feel sorry for you.Seattleapp wrote: ↑Sat Feb 07, 2026 12:00 amIf he hired an offensive coordinator who won’t be calling plays, then what’s he there for? I don’t know if this is a good hire or not because I have no experience with the new hire. However, neither does anyone else who is calling it a bad hire.
Related to your second post - One huge benefit is having a guy in the booth specifically looking at how to adjust the offense during the game. DLo could hopefully spend less time on the iPad mid drives, and spend more time fulfilling his other duties.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
So I’m also toxic now because I’m not taking all your posts as gospel and falling in line. You are again proving my point. And I’m not really sure how Degenerate fits there but any insult in the storm right? This is a theme with you. You’ve assumed this “in the know” persona with our current head coach and are treating it like a full time job. I’m not sure how anyone could see it any differently. But that’s your right and more power to you for having the time and energy to spend on this, speaking of feeling sorry for people. But like I said earlier, disparaging posters who have differing but equally valid opinions on our current head coach doesn’t make them wrong or not worth listening to. Your fawning over all things Loggains is kind of ridiculous and Over The top. Even with this latest hire, you phrased it as if he accomplished something monumental. Ok he hired a guy who has zero coordinator experience. It looks like a big ok to most people. It surely doesn’t warrant heaping praise on Loggains. By all means fan boy for him all you want, but attacking other posters for not being as in love with him is corny. you do make a good point about the oc hire. You should apply that same logic to the head coach who hasn’t done squat yet.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 07, 2026 12:26 amRelated to your first post - You are a toxic degenerate on this board. I see the jump to conclusions mat is getting good use.
Let’s see what the OC duties are, perhaps a good question to ask the coach at his next interview.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
I’m of the opinion that very few coaches can stand on the sideline and call plays with any degree of confidence. The game is moving so fast and there is too much going on. I’ve watched a head coach who acts as OC who has no business doing it. His play calls are awful and he obviously can’t react to defensive tendencies. I’m also of the belief that success or failure of a coordinator falls on the talent level or execution of the players- duh. A great play can be called but missed assignments can wreck it. We have plenty of “experts” on this board who absolutely melt down during games complaining about play calls. We also have level headed members here who recognize when our players simply screwed up an assignment and caused an otherwise good play call to fall apart.
As far as the hire let’s just see how it plays out. I commented earlier that I have no idea what certain coaching titles mean or what they entail as far as duties. We ain’t getting some P4 offensive genius to call plays for the salary equivalent of a P4 running back coach.

96 years of NFL experience got us a 5-8 record. Let’s upgrade with a career analyst and make him the OC. That tracks.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
I’m hoping this guy takes enough duties away that DLO can focus on HC duties and I guess call plays.
I was frustrated at times too last year but there were good calls and good gameplans at times. Uncc and USM I thought we had a good game plan (pretty much no one comes back from 3 red zone ints)
My main thing is I wish the playcaller was up in the booth but I guess we’re not going to get that.
