You are certainly welcome to join our tailgate at The Dome. I'm class of 77 so we are near the same vintage.....and lots of ATL Apps will be there.asualum78 wrote:If anyone wants to ride down from Asheville, I'm dying to go and will be more than happy to drive. I really don't want to go alone...

Re: Georgia State Tickets
This sounds probably sad, but I'll be coming down from the North Georgia suburbs and have been debating on whether or not I should just drive down to the Dome or take the Marta down from Sandy Springs.
Anyone have an opinion on what's probably a better option?

If you don't want to tailgate I would take the train.hotrod2001 wrote:This sounds probably sad, but I'll be coming down from the North Georgia suburbs and have been debating on whether or not I should just drive down to the Dome or take the Marta down from Sandy Springs.

Re: Georgia State Tickets
There won't be that much traffic on Saturday but it will cost $10 to park in one of the Dome lots. Marta is a good option as it will take you right to the Dome. You would certainly be welcome at my tailgate or others if you want to Marta it down. Look for the White Dodge Magnum in the Yellow Lot and the smell of Lemon Pepper...we'll be there.hotrod2001 wrote:This sounds probably sad, but I'll be coming down from the North Georgia suburbs and have been debating on whether or not I should just drive down to the Dome or take the Marta down from Sandy Springs.

Re: Georgia State Tickets
I will add that if you're making late plans to head down and are hoping to stay downtown near the Georgia Dome, or in the more popular locales for out-of-towners (Midtown, Buckhead, Galleria area) you might want to make your reservation soon. A number of events are in Atlanta this weekend, such as the massive Atlanta Pride Festival, and as such I've been told by a couple hoteliers that this weekend is among the 4 busiest weekends of the year in the ATL.

Re: Georgia State Tickets
Anybody know if Yosef Club has a tailgate going? My last trip to Furman they did. I'm trying to decide what to do Saturday. I've never had an App game so close to home, so I kind of don't know how to act! Very excited.

Re: Georgia State Tickets
There is an event at the team hotel on Friday night but they haven't posted anything about an official tailgate like Furman/Clemson/Michigan that I've seen. I did read somewhere that App fans were going to tailgate in the Yellow Lot that is next to the World Congress Center and that's where we'll be. A lot of the same crew that was at the UTC miracle game a few years back will be at our tailgate which I remember you being at. Just look for the same old Dodge Magnum wagon in the yellow lot and come have some grilled Panther Paws/Legs. You might check for updates on the App site but nothing new posted as of today about tailgate.AppinATL wrote:Anybody know if Yosef Club has a tailgate going? My last trip to Furman they did. Got our tix for $10. Thanks for tip on the "Yellow" lot. We live in ATL and will be there along with my parents who are driving down from Hendersonville on Friday.

I just wish I could make the game! My budget and these October 15th deadlines are telling me to keep my behind in Asheville this week.

Re: Georgia State Tickets
Thanks! We may do that. Haven't decided yet on whether to drive over or take the train. Yeah that was a fun day at Chattanooga. I guess that was my last trip up there!SpeedkingATL wrote:There is an event at the team hotel on Friday night but they haven't posted anything about an official tailgate like Furman/Clemson/Michigan that I've seen. Re: Georgia State Tickets
Being at this game reminded me of ETSU days, when we would have more fans in the Mini-Dome than the Bucs! We far out-numbered the GSt fans! Great showing by the team and the fans!!!
