As far as anticipated games historically does this one rank in the top 10? For the sake of argument I would not say that the first Michigan game is a top 10. Maybe this would be a good question for a separate thread.

They had a good crowd for today's show. The words and actions seemed more like a GA South crowd....

Remember this is a blackout game for JMU. We need to look different from them. Remember, we wore all white in 2008 and that did not go very well.

Any word on what JMU will be wearing?

As far as anticipated games historically does this one rank in the top 10? For the sake of argument I would not say that the first Michigan game is a top 10. Maybe this would be a good question for a separate thread.

Our history is much too great for this to be a top ten game.

TAMU

I’d argue GS was a bigger game last year. This game keeps us in contention (with help) for the SBC East, has no bearing on the bowl game, and is on ESPN+.

It would be a top ten win in the FBS era but not importance going into it.

That said it would be great to get it!

Obviously most answers would be subjective. Interesting that you don't list any games prior to 2005. I would not have a clue as far as older era games. Didn't we beat ECU, Wake and SC all in one season? Were any highly anticipated and hyped (as much as you could do in those days)? How about Miami? We did a pep rally before that one. Agree on the NC games. All big time anticipated. Troy last year has to be considered since CGD was in Boone. Absolutely on the CH games and that awful GS home loss. Interesting takes.

You are right. Gotcha didn't read the first response correctly- too early. It's kind of funny how perspective changes. Several of the FCS playoff era games in particular were highly anticipated to say the least. The whole win and advance made many of those games great. You could maybe add our first bowl game but for me none after that makes the list. I didn't consider Michigan because we simply considered that to be a money game and hoped we didn't get killed. The first UNC game is a top 5 for me as we fully expected to win, same for SC. I really don't include the game today but wondered if some might.

The three SBC championship games are three in top 10 for me as they were for championships. To me, an "anticipated" game is the feeling before the game was played. So I am not sure Michigan is in the category. It is afterwards..which is not anticipated. Personally, I put the 95 and 96 Marshall games in my top 10 given both teams rankings and when I was in school. For me, Penn State would not be in top 10 as we had no clue that 12 would turn out to be one of the best in black and gold. I do put Heels in Boone in my top 10. I actually thought we could beat them. USC is in my top 10 as I thought we had a really good team by time we rolled into Columbia. . The other P5s played were good after the game played out

It's just another conference game that just happens to have College GameDay. I place No historical value on it for App. JMU might place some value on it. I don't think we should.
