Because it looks like ****, especially on TV.
check out how much it is going to cost Duke to remove their track, lower their field, add seating and close in the horseshoe --- I think it is something like 100M
Other stadiums have had/still have tracks - it didn't deter them from hosting big games --- what it looks like on TV should be the last reason to do it unless someone writes a personal check for the entire amount
---
Again, I think digging down and adding seating is secondary to merely removing the track. I'm sure the majority of that Duke figure comes from the costs of lowering the field, not taking out the track. There really aren't very many FBS stadiums with tracks.
What it looks like on TV is one of the many reasons it's an eye-soar. It is the number one ascetically detrimental feature of Kidd Brewer Stadium. It is the one and only thing keeping The Rock from having a "big time" look.
I wish I was Warren Buffet and could just cut a check for the costs, but I can't. It's not that simple anyway. Our athletic department has X amount of $ in a budget and I feel that a portion of it should be devoted to removing the track ASAP. Many people, as well as the administration itself, share this view.
As another poster said, let's pay for what we have already built before we start spending on removing the track and expansion..

If everyone paid for everything before they bought something else there would be few things done in this country the last century.

Never said anything about "not recognizing" history - I said "fretting" about it --- I can't think of anything that hasn't been "recognized" on this board ---
"what transpired 6 years ago has no relevance - KBS is what it is, not what it should have been " imo that's a classic example of failing to recognize.

"Failing to recognize what?" - no official party asked me for input on stadium enhancements/expansion - how about the rest of you guys? - Did they meet with you? --- I'm saying all that happened 5,6,7 years ago is totally out of OUR (mmb) hands - What we recognize/didn't recognize means virtually nothing - WE ARE WHERE WE ARE TODAY - rehashing what some consider mistakes from 5,6,7 years ago changes nothing - LET'S MOVE FORWARD FROM HERE ---

No. We had to pass those posts, so we could find out what was in them.

Just out of curiosity I went there and it said I didn't have permission to view it. Did I do something wrong?

Access to that folder is by request only. That keeps recruits and trolls from other schools from reading threads that can sometimes get a little testy.
If you want in, reply to this message or send me a PM.

Home and home; Norfolk in 2015, Boone in 2016, I believe.
