Re: Scott Gone
Does anyone else get the feeling that Scott might get eaten up in that place? Maybe it hit me when I turned up the volume and heard him say “this is awesome “. I know that’s part of his personality but I just think Louisville is a mess and crazy people there will expect a quick miracle. I wish him the best but man just seems wrong.

He spends literally most of his life with an organization and gets a chance to make generation-changing money and people out here sipping venom flavored hatorade.
I know we're all hurt but goodness gracious, people.

We are so far from a New Year's 6 game. It is ridiculous for that to be a legitimate goal. Not beating a P5 school (among many other things) makes him a question mark for Louisville. The man did his job in Boone and is getting an opportunity to see if he can hit big league pitching. Time will tell. But getting paid for a promotion is no crime.

I don't have any hurt feelings. Just pointing out there are accomplishments that are still sitting out there to be achieved for whoever Gillin tabs to lead the program. Being an idiot, even I could figure that out.Boone Goon wrote: ↑Tue Dec 04, 2018 2:18 pmJust stop it! You're sounding like an idiot. After 20+ years at App he's trying something different. We were literally 2 games from a NY6 bowl. We beat Georgia Southern and Memphis beats UCF. That's all that had to happen.appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 04, 2018 2:30 pmWe are so far from a New Year's 6 game. It is ridiculous for that to be a legitimate goal. Kind of sucks for Scott, with Urban Meyer announcing his retirement today he pretty much sucked out the oxygen out of the news cycle and UL's hire is going to be just a footnote.

Re: Scott Gone
What are you talking about? First, we were whipped by GSU. But set that aside. IF we had beaten Southern we might have been ranked in the 20 to 17 range in the CFP (which is what matters) Central Florida went into the Memphis game ranked 8th. There is no way we would have passed them. Obviously, I have no idea, but i doubt Appalachian State ever passed the lips of a committee member.asucrutch23 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 04, 2018 2:38 pmWe were literally 2 games from a NY6 bowl. Re: Scott Gone
Highest ranked G5 conference champion gets the new year's bowl. If Memphis beat UCF, the golden knights would have been ineligible for it.appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 04, 2018 2:51 pmWhat are you talking about? First, we were whipped by GSU. But set that aside. What are YOU talking about? You must be a conference champion to be the G5 rep in the NY6. We were 2 games from the NY6. Moving is a hard thing to do. I'm sadden by this family pic. You can see how stressful this must be. Prayers for his family. He will always be a mountaineer in my book.

Re: Scott Gone
It's UCF, and no, we wouldn't have passed them. Luckily that's not what matters. We would have been ahead of conference champion Memphis. You MUST be a conference champion to be the G5 rep in the NY6. Again, we were 2 games from the NY6. We didn't do what we had to do in Statesboro, and UCF came back and beat Memphis, but those are the only 2 games we needed.appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 04, 2018 2:54 pmWe wouldn't have passed CFU.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Tue Dec 04, 2018 2:52 pmHighest ranked G5 conference champion gets the new year's bowl.
